Oh, I love your ring tops! Little pens are my favorite. The DeWitt Superite is marvelous, as are the little Conklin and Waterman. It would be hard to choose between any of them, small or not.

Penguincollector, you got me wondering about my metal pens and how many I have. So I made the effort and rounded them up for a photograph.

Well, don't let the images fool you, most of my pens I get for much less than they would be worth in good shape and some have had quite alot of repairing that I have done myself, as vintage pens often have issues especially really old ones.  Good call on the Superite it's a great writer with a "S" nib very nice one,  just a bit too thin for me. I use the eyedropper fillagree the most as as a ideal 2 nib that I soldered and writes so well even if not pretty. It's amazing.  The Sheaffer ring top has a great self filling 2 nib too to use.

Regards, Glen

I love ideal 2 nibs. I have a 1928ish desk pen with one and an orange feed that a pen club member gave me, it’s a wonderful writer and always at hand in it’s base.  The oldest Sheaffer I have is the Compact II, as I’m slowly dipping my toes into sacced pens again,  as I recently found another repair person. I can’t do much repair myself as I have parrots.
That Superite sounds even more perfect the more you write about it. I love slender pens. It’s definitely going on my list.

Thanks! I'm a sucker for sterling pens. Unfortunately I only have the two. I would like to add more.

The Shaeffer writes really well. It's nice and bouncy. Don't get me wrong, the MB writes pretty great too. It's just that the Imperial has such a delicate touch. The only downside is the cap is somewhat loose, plus the clip is undersized making it not the best for EDC.

Just in time for the holidays, I would like to see sparkling (and matte) metal pens. Flighters, covered BHCR, brass, rolled gold, plated, solid, filligree skeletons, bare metals of all sorts, please. Make Burl Ives proud (ask your grandparents, kids). Here are mine minus what is under the tree and my Asvine V169 skeleton that has gone wandering around the house:

L to R: Vermeil Parker 75 Ciselé F, Parker Vector Gold Plated F, Parker 45 Insignia black tassie M, Sheaffer TRX 70 M,  Sheaffer Imperial 777 M, Cross 10k rolled gold F, Parker 180 flighter X/M, Baoer 388 F, Parker 25 blue M, Parker Mixy flighter, Hero 282, Sailor Chalana EF, Sheaffer Fashion II 240,  Parker 15 flighter, Zebra V301,  MUJI aluminum F, Cross for Franklin Covey Lexington M.

Amazing collection.

I'll add two more if brass is to be included. 20230607_112939.thumb.jpg.d3f85a05c0777ac2cc0ac0959b8b6010.jpg

Does anyone have a sterling Yard-O-Led pen? I'd love to have one. Particularly the Victorian.

Thanks! What’s the top pen with the pattern on it? Is it a button filler, or is there something else going on at the end of the barrel?

It's a Hero 395 and the bottom is there to help it secure when posting. It's also somewhat decorative. Overall it's a better looking than performing pen.

That' a fine looking Constellation...all I've got is a mechanical DeVille.....plus a near a dozen others 1/2&1/2 quartz and mechanical.

Been wanting a Constellation for 63 years...................had I stopped buying pens, I would have one.

What is that second bronze watch?

That was WW2 era and draft Army style clip.....in a normal bulging '30's pen with lower clip would cost winning the war....in REMx's had nothing else to do that force underpaid EM's to buy fountain pen replacements that didn't bulge the top of their folded over military fatigue  pocket.

I regret the postal costs from America to Germany was so high, to near match the price of such a Sheaffer pen when they were cheap 15 or more years ago.

I usually prefer pretty vintage celluloids, but there are 3 metal pens I've retained for my collection. All were "sumgais" and they are all great writers!

Parker Cisele Sterling 75

Eversharp Skyline Command Performance solid 14k

Mont Blanc Turbo brushed steel
