The Parker Sterling Silver Cisele is such a stunning looker. Stands out in any collection.

Thanks! I should get a plain silver one to match the vermeil. I really enjoy the Ciselé pattern. I really really want a Duofold in it. Maybe one day….

Yeah, I love mine!

It's funny -- none of the other colors or finishes for 75s interested me at all.  But the sterling Ciselé just blew me away the first time I saw one (i didn't buy that one because I didn't know enough about the model to know if the price was good or not -- after standing in line for over an hour freezing at an estate sale...).  So spent that summer and fall educating myself about the nuances (French production vs. US, early vs. late, etc.).  Got *extremely* lucky on mine -- most of the ones on eBay had medium nibs, and I bid on one with a fine nib, only to get MASSIVELY outbid.  And then spotted one with a broad nib shortly thereafter, and was trying to figure out how much to put down for a maximum bid -- only to realize that NOBODY was looking at that listing but me!  So waited until about an hour before the end of the auction and bid the minimum....  Okay, with tax and shipping it ended up being a fair amount more the one at the estate sale I passed on -- but I think I still did okay on the price.

So other than broad, what else did your 75 end up being? Is it US or French, early or late? Flat or dished tassies?  Mine is a US later early version with flat tassies, a fine nib, early clip, and the adjustable nib dial.  The ciselé is my favorite 75, but there are so many beautiful designs- I wouldn’t mind more of them.

I was referring to the model number, but in any case I had the wrong Legacy collection. Stubs and cursive italics give such a nice look to a hand, and I bet those lay down a ton of ink, just the way you like it!

🧐 I'd have to look at the model numbers to actually know. I just know what I was told, but then I could have that wrong too.  :)

Yes, they write just how I love it.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Same with me. I first saw one when I was about 10 years old and had just started using a fountain pen in school (we were allowed to use only pencils till then) but it as owned by one of my dad's friends and all I could do was gawk at it.  My grandfather had a gold cross hatch P75 which I now use and I am also the owner of Silver Cicele (bought on ebay 47 years later)

I love using them and one is always inked and often an EDC.

I see you also like slim pens- they’re all pens I would love!

Yes, I do enjoy slim pens. But an Asvine V126 has convinced me to look into pens with a bit more girth, and I am waiting for some pens to arrive and play with a wider range. 😀

Anyway, I envy your Sailor Chalana. 😍

US production; dished tassie, so I think a later model.  Doesn't have a date code but the dished tassie suggests pre-1979.  I did have to get some repairs done since it was leaking from the collar, and also needed a replacement sac for the converter and a replacement of the clutch fingers in the cap (all of which I had forgotten about until just now when I was looking to see if I had mentioned a date code in my inventory notes.

Still, it really is a lovely pen.  Most recently I was using it when I got the bottle of MB Jimi Hendrix -- because that bright purple ink looked SOOOO good coming out of that B nib....   (Of course now I'm just kicking myself for not getting a second bottle of the ink when I had a chance.... :headsmack:)

My Parker Sonnet Fougere. Not inked currently. I dug it out and gave it a polish with the Sunshine cloth special for this photo opp. This pen arrived sans card in 1998, apparently as a congratulatory gift subsequent to a major career event. Husband still claims it wasn't him and the vendor wouldn't tell me the buyer's name. Hence I was never able to send a thank you note.

That is a very beautiful pen- what a wonderful, mysterious gift!  I love the fougere pattern on it. Has it been a good performer long term? The Sonnet is one of the modern models I’ve no experience with. I’m sure the gifter knows the extent of your appreciation.

Isn’t it the cutest‽ I have pens in all sorts of sizes, it’s fun to try them all out.  Asvine has a ton of great pens for the price.

Ooh, I bet that purple looks good in that pen, what a pretty combo! I can’t really see the date codes on my pens, so I always forget about them.

Oh, you bet well -- it was a fabulous combination!

Of course the downside is that Jimi Hendrix was NOT a cheap ink, and is now, AFAIK basically unobtanium....  So I really probably shouldn't have kept refilling the pen with it.... :headsmack:

I know that MB will sometimes rerelease a color under a different name; I hope this happens with Jimi for you.

It's a lovely pen, and a lovely writer. I will admit I didn't like it much when it first came to me. I had been using a Parker 45 for years and years, along with a couple of old kitchen drawer pens I got from Granny. The Sonnet was too flashy, plus it's .925 silver AND has an 18k gold nib so I was too worried about loss and damage to really enjoy using it. But over the last 10 years I've had it inked more often than not, only (sing along) with Quink.

Sometimes, we have the right pen, but it’s not the right time. I’ve had some pens for decades suddenly become favorites. Some favorites have been resting in storage for awhile.
I like to sing the praises of washable blue Quink, especially with Solv-x. I have one particular Parker that balks at any other ink.

Well, before I got it, I asked one of the vendors about the differences between it, Lavender Black, the Beatles ink (both of which I already have) and the vendor send me a screen shot of swabs of the three plus the Enzo Ferrari LE ink.

I missed out on MB Winter Spice. It was a red ink. Any chance it’s out there under a different name?

We can look. I will also ask my pen club friends and see if the inkophiles know.
