Oh hell, I forgot to add my one and only Pilot to the silver pens, because it is in constant use:

You have a lovely collection, and this is super high praise for your Pilot, especially considering all the competition it has to be in use!

Thank you, Janeite. It is put to use for one specific task for which it is the best suited among my pens, seeing it has a Japanese F nib. And because of this assignment it is my only pen that is constantly inked. It is a very good writer, too, and I just love those stripes.

  I love those striped MYUs, @carola and @lascosas! I have been wanting one, but that’s a pen I would like to buy in person.

Thank you, RedPie! They have somehow accumulated, part of them has simply come to me like a stray kitten. 😊

A not yet found it or any info; Faber Castell 5005 sterling silver, matt fountain pen. The one to the far right.

A live auction lot, just won.

21 grams sterling silver  to a sterling silver P-75's 23 grams.A300-1036-768x589.jpg.0443f52b5efbca9be3bb2f5a49ca6d4d.jpg

That is a 2002 MB display nib, no slit, no tipping; but as huge as I've seen a nib.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.

  I was wondering about that nib! The matte silver is intriguing, the shield reminds me of a Cadillac.

Here now is a picture of my 'metallic'-looking pens that are not made of (or coated in) silver or gold, but are made of (or coated in) stainless steel, or 'chrome'.

large.FlightersAllies.jpg.6e3711d99dbdea1798c867c564e20a71.jpg

The pens on the top row are all Parkers.
L → R they are:

  • 45, Made in France, early 1970s, steel 'X' (i.e. 'EF') nib;
  • 45, Made in England, early 1970s, 14k gold 'M' nib;
  • 45, Made in England, mid-late 1970s, steel 'M' nib;
  • 25, Made in England, 1979, nib unmarked, but I think 'M';
  • 'Jotter', Made in UK, 2004, 'M' nib;
  • Vector, Made in India by Luxor, 2014, 'F' nib;
  • Sonnet, Made in France, 2007, steel 'M' nib;
  • Frontier, Made in India by Luxor, 2014, 'F' nib ← this pen often lends its cap to my Made-in-UK Frontier in 'Luna Grey', because I broke the clip off that pen's cap :doh:;
  • Urban, Made in France?, 2015, 'F' nib.

The three pens shown underneath the Parkers, top → bottom:

  • Sheaffer Triumph (model 444), 1980s, 'F' nib;
  • WH Smith cartridge pen, ~ 2010, 'M' 'Iridium Point Germany' nib ← this pen's feed starves its nib. It once had a black sibling that did likewise. One of them broke my first Pelikan converter. I cannot disassemble the pen in order to futz with its nib/feed (in the process of discovering this fact, its black sibling got destroyed), so it now, sadly, spends most of its time languishing in the Drawer of Shame :(;
  • Waterman Graduate, 1990s, 'F' nib.

I also have a few similar-looking pens of those inferior newfangled varieties that don't have nibs.

I do like me a Shiny Thing... ;)

Sadly, something went wrong and the image isn't visible (I tried clicking on both the URL and the question mark in a box in the center of what should have been the link).

That's my fault, for editing the text under the image in my 'Gallery' after I had submitted the post :doh:

I did edit the post to replace the photo, but it obviously didn't work :(

I've just done it again. Can you see the picture now?

Yup!  This time it came through just fine!

I have one 45 Flighter (no date code but I've narrowed down the time to between 1964 & 1970) and one stainless steel Vector that I have listed as being a "skunk" for some reason...).  I also was able to score a 61 Flighter, thanks to someone on FPN a couple of years ago, but haven't used it much -- it seems to have a nib that I've described in my inventory notes as being like a fude nib....  So, once I get the "in rotation" stash down to a more manageable level, I may dig that pen out and see if it's actually a Waverly nib on it....

I have a few other steel pens (a Sheaffer that I think is a Lady 620), and some French made Waterman pen I haven't ID'd yet).

The only sterling silver pen I have (no pix, sorry) -- is a Parker 75 Ciséle, with a B nib.  Of course the trouble with that pen is that it likes the MB Jimi Hendrix homage ink, and I didn't buy a second bottle of that (even at full retail price!) when I had a chance.... :wallbash:  I do also have a couple of Morrison ringtops -- one has the sterling filigree overlay that I've seen on a number of vintage pen models (Parker, Waterman, and a couple of second and third tier brands); the other has an overlay which has a pattern of engraved dots and lines on the overlay.

My own Ciselé Sterling Silver 75 (which has an 'F' nib) also loves purple inks I have no desire to disappoint the pen, so it rarely sees any other colour of ink ;)

At least the 'F' nib on mine doesn't run though them as fast as yours must do!

I suspect that we may now see calls for you to upload pictures of your filigreed Morrison, and its dotted-&-lined sibling. Plus of your 75.
I know that I would like to see them....

It might not be for a week or two (or even longer).  I'm kinda behind on stuff I need to get done before the weekend.  And will be busy all weekend as well (other hobby weekend), after having pen club tomorrow night.  And then juggling laundry loads and the next round of allergy shots on Monday -- PLUS the driveway people are FINALLY supposed to start work on Monday (which means that not only do we have to park both vehicles on the street most of next week, we ALSO have to pay attention to the alternate side parking rules (our next door neighbors, who don't HAVE a driveway or garage, got a ticket on one of their vehicles a while back for parking in front of their house on street-sweeping day for our side of the street...).
