Oh that is just AWESOME.  (I know a bunch of scribes in the SCA who would be fighting each other for one of those.

Don't suppose the place you got it has another one in stock....  Because I'd happily get one for me....

ETA: Ooh, just did a Google search.  I think I might just need another Christmas present....  My husband will NOT be amused....  Unless of course I got one for him as well, maybe (he liked the "astronaut" one I got him at OPS in November, and -- even better -- did NOT pick the blue "astronaut" one I got for ME....

Thanks! I got this one on Amazon. It comes in Bronze (my choice), Silver, and blue for about $30. It has a decent weight to it so it won't knock over too easily. Doesn't fit really big pens as well (Pelikan M800 and larger.)

Happy hunting!

Well, I don't use anything as large as an M800, except maybe the vintage Sheaffer Balance Oversize that was my husband's grandfather's.  And that's a light enough pen, even though large, that I suspect it would not be too precarious for the Commander Worf (although haven't actually tried it).

Sigh.  The problem with FPN is that I constantly find myself going, "Oh, I haven't used X pen or Y ink for a while...."  And then end up with too many pens inked put to be managable.

I just finished a major buying spree and I think I have about 18-20 inked at the moment. Hey, at least we're playing with our toys.

True, dat!

I don't understand the mentality of the people who buy pens (especially high-end LE ones) just to put in a display case.

I have a couple of pens now that still have the stickers on them -- a burgundy Snorkel with the nib size sticker on the section, and the Lady Sheaffer 620 with the model & nib info on the price sticker on the cap.  And I don't think TWICE about using those.  Because, well, they're PENS, right?

Of course now I'm trying to remember where that 620 has got to -- I was using yesterday morning.....

I 've actually dedicated the top shelf in my display case to inked pens. It makes them easy to find and I'm very into the whole 'see everything at a glance' approach to organizing and storage this year.

Plus, I'm trying to keep my possessions manageable, so anything that purely decorative and fits into the museum of me category is getting a really hard look.

The whole reason for turning the glass cabinet into The Pen Cabinet* and adding all the pen stands is so I can keep all my inked pens where I can see them. Putting them back in their drawers did not work even with a Currently Inked book kept up to date. And it kinda puts a limit on how many I will ink at once.

And adding some inks to the display looks pretty. Thise are chosen to have out because I want to be reminded of them. Or they do have such nice boxes.

And it's working. I have been using so many different pens each day. Some written out and cleaned to make room for different ones. Some, I realised, will be permanent residents cos they're too hard to clean, but so nice to use I'm OK with it.

It's been a fun project that's turned out to be a life improvement. I find myself just standing there and looking.

* And I call it The Pen Cabinet so I get to say "that's going straight to The Pen Cabinet" in my best imitation of the line in The Castle (when the occasion arises... like the arrival of the little Pilot 2023 Bear that was free with purchase). :lticaptd:

Will work for pens...

My son made another pen stand for my Pen Cabinet... 3D printed with Carbon PETG. Most suitable for a few Japanese pens. 🖤

Cool. It reminds me of those Japanese sword stands.
