Indian pen switch

My daughter was introduced to FPs in 2010 or so, also gets her share of pens when I buy. Rather it's a "group buy". She's grown up now, developed a beautiful handwriting, learnt calligraphy on her own (English, Arabic and Devnagiri) and flaunts her FPs in her uni as she is perhaps the only person among >1000 students using FP!!

With smallish hands quite a few pens were not suiting her though she took them from my buy. So time to switch and also satisfy my itch to buy new pens till I can go to India next year as I somehow got hooked to Indian EDs. We agreed to switch some pens from my collection and her collection.

Gave these to her

2 x Lamy Al Star - she loves Lamy; started with Lamy ABC and has a few Lamy Al Star, LX, Nexx (there is a handwritten review on it by her that I posted on FPN in 2015 or so) and a set of Lamy Joy.

Parker Jotter.

ASA Daily - I told her  an ebonite pen is a must in a collection and gave her Daily with converter / cartridge so that it's convenient for her to use than fill the EDs at her hostel.

And I got these in return.

Gama Popular Blue/ black, ASA I Can Blue / Black, Doctor Bamboo Teal Blue (phone camera does not do justice to the colors). All are EDs

Nice way to try out different pens for both of you 👍

All three ebonites look similar in colour and pattern also.

The golden rule is FPs should not change hands due to individual writing style.

This swap put to use the pens that we both don't use in our pen rotations.

Also it satisfied my urge to add more Indian pens and her desire for the two Lamys. She has I think three Al Stars - Deep Violet, Blue and one more I don't remember. She had a choice of my green and copper orange when she got her purple and blue and she had set eyes on mine. I didn't part with them then. Win - Win 😀

That's even better 👍 I myself have sold many of my pens which weren't getting used.

All are a kind of blue plus black ebonites with similar looking patterns. The ASA I Can is deep blue while Gama Popular and ASA Daily are more towards Teal. Pixel's camera now with some stupid AI doesn't give accurate colors.
