I'm not so sure, Vanness swatch shows a darker brown, closer to Brown Penguin...

Regardless the other difference is the price. Octopus is cheaper :)

My bottle of the Platinum Pigmented Sepia is very like the jetpens image and was rather a surprise when I got it because it's nothing like I expected a sepia to look. I add a couple of drops of Carbon to the converter to fix it.

 

It is an old bottle now, maybe they changed the ink. Or Vanness is fixing it too. B)

Will work for pens... :unsure:

Thanks for clarifiying it. Adding a few drop of Carbon black is a neat trick. I love upgrading "questionable" colours with a few drops here and there :D
