Lamy Safari Violet BlackBerry

Thanks for the full photograph. Interesting decision to mix and match different colours, unsurprisingly though due to the many editions they have released- there are only so many colours. What is also interesting about the Safari in this photograph is that the barrel appears to be shiny, leading me to believe that is aluminium. Whereas the grip section appears to be made out of the usual ABS plastic. A Safari mixed with an AL-star? I'll have to check this one out- not sure I like the colours though.

Hmmm.  I'd have to see this one in a side by side with the Dark Lilac SE from a few years ago (a Dark Lilac Safari was my first Lamy pen).

ETA: On the other hand, after seeing the other posted photo, the Pink Cliff is a definite maybe.... I have the Ruthenium LX, and the Azure al-Star SE, but of course those are both lighter in color, and shiny.

I'm not even a traditionally a huge fan of pink. I just see something that catches my eye and impulse buy it. Purple is another story. I like purple. How did I end up with all of these? 🙃

n+1

I’m thinking if I got one, it would be the blackberry. I finally got over FOMO for Lamy pens.

I love the color of the Violet Blackberry's grip, it would have looked sensational in the whole pen, both that grip and the Pink Cliff's look translucent.

I think those are great editions for those who missed the Dark Lilac LE, let's hope Lamy will re-issue the Dark Lilac ink and a new/LE pink ink, so that I have something to fill those fountain pens with.

What about the matching ballpoints and rollerballs color scheme?

When is a new Lamy Safari MP color going to be released?

I only buy cool pink and silver color clips  pens .

if the Studio had been the color of the recent Pink Lamy Scala, I'll own it already. Thank you for posting the Studio picture.

I  also own the dark pink Al-Star LE, can't never remember its name.

No, that would look different at the window. It's probably glossy. Problem is those pictures are renderings.

Black purple? SE from 2009. Raspberry from 2008? Vibrant Pink, 2018?

That makes a lot of sense. I am not sure that I like the idea of a glossy and matte finish mixed together.

I think I don't like this year's colour combinations, because they don't harmonise with each other colour-wise. LAMY has always paid attention to this with the double editions. For example, combining complementary colours.

I had firmly decided against any of these when the images were first released. To Lamy, "I'm going to buy something else, not a Lamy."

I think if you swap sections between the two pens, the colors match each other better.  Warm-colored section on warm-colored barrel, and likewise for the cooler purples.

I agree that Lamy has historically always had a good sense of color.  I'm not sure this release lives up to that standard.

I think that the SE colors “harmonize” because Lamy released them at the same time and SAID that they went together.  They had a common “theme”, as these two do, but that’s about all. If I liked them then I bought them, if I didn’t I didn’t.  The 2023 pastels did nothing for me.  The 2024 SEs are different from what has been done previously and return to the use of the black clip so I am more interested in them.

So, everything Marketing says is the truth. 😄 I'll tell our customers.

Kinda makes you wonder who Marketing is telling this to -- the customers, management, or THEMSELVES....

Looks like, try to make the best of a "(bleep) Up".

Sorry gov, " put the wrong colour dye in the plastic mould machine, Only 20000 nib section to sell!"

Seems that Marketing opened the door for anyone to mix sections and barrels and call them “prototypes.”  Creative juices look to be dried up.
