Carène converter issue question

Nothing in my Standard International converter collection fits in a Carène. The striated end is a little too fat to allow the barrel to close. I hope nI'm not the only Carene head who encountered this issue. I would love to get advice on where to find a replacement as the old converter cracked at the neck. All the Waterman converter pictures I see appear to be of the fatter stem type.

It would be unusual for a Waterman converter not to fit a Waterman pen.  I recently replaced 3 old converters on different Waterman pens with new 'Waterman' converters from Amazon.  All fit with no problems.

Surprising indeed but I have a converter stamped "Waterman" (which doesn't guarantee anything) that doesn't fit. I fount that a Kaweco converter fits perfectly as the stem is thinner.

You need S0112881 part from Waterman, it's widely available and cheap.

My three Carène chew the regular Waterman converters for breakfast; none of my other Waterman pens do this. You need to find a metal, threaded head converter; they are become scarce and expensive.

We really ought to collectively look for an alternative, it's getting ridiculous; all that is required is the same diameter at the point of connection with thicker plastic.

Just checked, the Faber Castell converter fits and holds in my Carène; a Scmidt K5 is too loose.

I have a collection of the old metal reinforced waterman converters. Never seem to have a problem with them. The newer ones with plastic mouths split after a few uses.

They split in whatever waterman you use I had one in an expert that did it to me. I just use waterman cartridges in my waterman pens now less hassle. Also less worry and wasted ink.

It is frustrating how poor the life span is of the new waterman converters.

I never use the new ones, only the old metal end versions.  I have never had one of these old converters fail.

For whatever strange reason, standard internation cartridges and converters don't fit the Carene.  And Waterman converters with plastic mouths split after a couple of uses.

You may be better off refilling those long Waterman cartridges.
