Super5- Delhi

I personally would not appreciate receiving a letter with this ink with an Ef nib, :D however, I enjoyed using this ink for art projects.

It is my understanding that the inks were originally made by Roherer and Klingner and used the same bottles, but the packaging has changed and now the inks come in 30 ml bottles.

What surprised me was the amount of ink stuck in the transparent section of pilot Kakuno, which I had forgotten in water for 3 days. It needed a pen flush to remove it.

It’s no biggy in my book, but it might be for some.

Ink is very well behaved and works well on copy paper with most nibs.

If you want a slightly reddish waterproof orange go for Carmen, which is easily available in North America and cheaper.

Chroma

It really well behaved on Hammermill, the only bleed though was with heavy handed flexing :D

And finally an artwork: Castle, This was part of the inktober challenge, it gave me the opportunity to use Super5-Delhi  (rigtht) and R&K Sketchink Carmen (Left)

The idea was of walls we built around our selves...

The blue ink is Herbin Bleu Nuit....

Thanks as usual for the comprehensive review.

I agree with you -- I have a similar problem with legibility with most yellow and light orange inks.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I have all of their inks and they did  come (at least originally, about 7 years ago) as 50 ml portions in the same 50-ml bottles continually offered by R&K.

You're right on this colour. it does  look nice, but it doesn't  read  nice !

Must resist urge to write Yazeh a letter with this ink.... (Not that I have it.  And I'm not a big fan of buying inks from overseas, so I guess you're safe.)  :D

Thanks for the review, @yazeh!  The shading reminds me of Noodler's Apache/Southwest Sunset.  Love the meditating kitty and mouse. :)  Color looks nice, but not something I feel compelled to have.

Good to know. I don't know if they are still made by R&K... The new bottles remind me of jam jars :D

Unless you get Carmen :D You can buy their pens in US, though ;)

It looks like but it hasn't got the shading of Apache!

🙏It's great when one can enjoy the review for ithe ink's sake and not feel compelled to buy :)

Thank you for the great review. Dehli is one of my favorite orange inks. In my super huge nibs, it is perfectly legible.  I like how it is waterproof. I bought it years ago in the bigger bottle.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thank you, @yazeh, for the comprehensive ink review - always a pleasure to read and look!

As you already mentioned, the Super5 ink looks similar to R&K Carmen. (in other words: I guess I do own the other twin of Delhi already).

I love your inktober castle interpretation a lot! Yes, there are walls, and yes, there are keyholes ... ;)

One life!

When you do the chroma, the heart of Carmen is reddish orange, whereas Delhi is orange :)

Nice orange. What I appreciate about all Super5 inks is their water resistance - makes them excellent inks for the workplace. It’s been awhile since I used this Delhi orange. I think I’ll load it up in a Parker Sonnet … for me this pen always seems to write a bit more saturated, which might improve this orange’s looks. My guess is that this increased saturation is due to the hole in the Sonnet cap, which causes water to evaporate - leaving a darker-looking ink.

Very clever. I prefer it with wider/ wetter nibs :)
