Help with cap

Recommended Posts

I have had this pen for a good long time and during a recent move I am ashamed to say that I lost track of it.  That is when a very bad thing happened.  I would like to get a replacement cap but I’m not exactly sure which model I have.  Are there any measurements or markings that could tell me what I need to keep my eye out for.  Alternately does anyone know the thread pitch in the cap so I could try to make one.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

The pen is mightier than the sword unless someone stabs you with the sword.

I don't know a lot about vintage Duofolds.  But my recommendation would be to check out the Parkercollector.com website and do a search for Duofolds.  The relevant article is likely to give the sizes of different pens in that model, and what colors were made when.

There's also a page where you can scroll down and look at various Parker models, and then click on the image(a) that look the closest to yours, to get you to a link where it will say what colors were made in a specific size/detailing/color.

ETA: Once you've narrowed down the version of that model/color, you can try various pen repairers and/or places like eBay (or -- if you live in the general vicinity -- at booths at a pen show), to see if they carry the replacement cap in the size/color you need.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Streamline Duofold.

looks like it is a smaller size pen.

Thanks I will give that a try.

I am not doubting your craft skills, but it is unlikely you can fabricate your own cap to match the rest of the pen. If the pen is important to you, I would suggest you send it to a pen tech who can match a replacement cap to the pen. Spend the extra postage, rather than requesting a replacement cap sight unseen.

What is the pen size?  All but a Sr cap should be easy to locate.
