Recently came across this event:

https://facebook.com/events/s/7th-international-pen-festival/809903400619345/

Hosted by Venus Traders from Pune:

https://www.facebook.com/VenusTradersPune

Couldn't find more information, other than a few generic details on the above Facebook pages.

My queries to the FPN community:

1. Is it worth visiting? Is there anyone with more information like which brands will be present (particularly Indian and affordable brands), will there be any discounts, will there be a possibility to get some repairs done, etc. Would be nice to know before deciding to travel to a different city.

2. Are you planning to attend?

Since I don’t use FB, unable to view the links. But I think it will be better to call the host directly and ask for details before making plans.

I did that. They said they don't have any additional information / flyer / brochure than what is given on the Facebook page which is as follows:

As I understand from our short phone call with the number mentioned on their FB page (8608603833), the main idea is to be able to see/hold and maybe get to try some of the more expensive models before purchasing (e.g. Magna Carta, Leonardo, etc.)

In any case, I was more inclined to hear about any past experiences from the FPN members who may have visited such an event before (given that this is the 7th version of the event).

  • 2 weeks later...

Update: An aquantaince went to the festival. There were mostly very expensive brands / items on display and available for purchase, ranging from tens of thousands of Rupees and going up as high as Rupees 2.5 lakh or so. I couldn't go, but seems like didn't miss much as I anyway could not afford these😅

There is another pen show coming up in Pune: The Pune Fountain Pen Show (3 to 5 Nov 2023)

Link (does not require logging in): https://www.facebook.com/p/The-Pune-Fountain-Pen-Show-61552053991338/

This seems to be with more Indian and more affordable brands (e.g. Mohi, Kanwrite, etc.), along with the luxury brands / items.

Interestingly, from the posts, it seems like a few representatives / owners of some Indian brands are also going to be present.

Tommy

Most welcome ☺️

Have been wondering what's with Pune and these pen shows. Seems like the city is a nice fountain pen hub!
