Just received mine. It's absolutely gorgeous and the writing experience itself is about the best I've ever encountered. It feels big enough to be reassuringly heft but not so big that it feels uncomfortable in my hands. The nib is smooth without being too slippery and also has the tiniest bit of feedback, absolutely perfect.

For anyone wanting the Sailor cleaning kit, our favorite Amazon.com seller of all things Sailor, Amazon Japan, has it this morning for $6.25

I just received my order of this and unfortunately I was sent three mini converters, not maintenance kits. Now I have to do a return, super frustrating.

Ouch...I ordered one.  In a KOP, that .3 ml will not last long.

It is on of my favorite nibs.

Sailor nibs are my favorite.  I like that they are somewhat austere, not flexy, with that famous Sailor #2 pencil feel.  And then there are the KOP nibs.  Hugely bouncy, way wet.  A completely different animal.  Yes, I very much like them, I've got 3 KOPS, but I think they are quite different from the rest of the family.

Sailor nibs are also my favorite nibs and the KoP nib is sheer perfection. However you aren't kidding about it being way wet. I put a Sailor shikiori ink into the pen and it's absolutely gushing. I think I will need to reserve the KoP for drier inks going forward. However I bet the Sailor inks will work a treat in my MF 1911L and my 1911 Realo.

My "cleaning kit" just arrived and is only a converter. I had my suspicions that might be all since only a converter was shown in the photo. And it is a mini converter, to boot.

Getting onto Amazon customer service now.

Yes, I had the same problem, and I'm so sorry, I'm the one who recommended this.  Amazon refunded me the money & told me to keep the converter, but it took lots of time with Amazon chat.

Eh no worries. I actually spotted this and ordered before I saw your post so no shade on you. Amazon's self-help product return algorithm issued me a refund and told me to keep the converter.

Wonder if it's worth macguyvering the thing to work in my kaweco sport? That's the only pen I have that is suitably short 😄

You guys got to keep your converters? I was told I have to mail mine back to Japan!

They gave me a prepaid label. Still a real PIA for their clear mistake.

Slinkster-

The capacity of this mini converter is beyond pathetic.  Below compares it to a regular converter and cartridge, all Sailor.  The cartridge is smaller than the mini, so there are no Sailor pens that require the mini.  And the capacity of the normal Sailor converter is pathetic enough, the mini is, well mini capacity.  It is ironic since this dicussion of the maintenance kit is about how to enhance the ink capacity of the KOP.  The mini will barely wet the feed!

You want mine? I flang it in my spare parts bin, happy to dig it out and send it along if you can use it. I cannot envision ever using it in any of my Sailor pens, which are all 1911s. My comment about modifying it was just a bit ironic.

Truth. Maybe there's a kawaii subculture we don't know about where somebody is fabbing up sub-miniature Sailor clones...

No, I don’t need to use it, I’m just surprised several of you were told to keep it while I have to go to the trouble of mailing it back.
