Parker 61 does not write.

I recently acquired a Parker 61 in very good overall condition.  I flushed the old ink out and soaked the overnight. I refilled the pen with fresh ink but cannot get the nib to write.  Flossing the nib does not help because only a tiny area of the nib can be accessed.  Any suggestions for fixing this issue would be appreciated.

Was your a capillary filler or cartridge converter?  If the former it will take many flashings to remove the old ink from capillary unit.  Both types of fillers may have internal feeds caked with dried ink that will also take multiple soaks and flushes to clear.

OCArt is absolutely right regarding capillary filler if this is a case.

For one of my used capillary 61s it has taken about a week of patent soaking and flushing but it worked well at the end fo the day.

However, avoid using hot water as it may damage plastic of the hood and section.

There are a few threads on FPN where the whole process of bringing

capillary 61s back into life perfectly described.
