Does it not have model and make on side? Looks like an early Parker looking at nib?

Well, the nib says "Lucky Curve" (but could be a replacement -- I have a Lucky Curve nib on a Mabie Todd Swan); and it appears from the photo of the barrel end to be either a button filler or a (possibly) a first Generation Vacumatic.

My best suggestion is to go on parkercollector.com, which is my go-to website for all things Parker pens (there is a page that has different models and you can click on the link(s) that look the most like your pen and it will take you to the relevant articles).

There is a section of the barrel where the ribbing stops but there are no legible words or markings there. Just a big scratch

Thanks I will take a look there then. By the way it operates I would definitely assume it is a button filler.

Now you made me look that model up.  And now I WANT one!  Especially in the purple.... :wallbash:

My husband will NOT be pleased....

And, given that they're probably fairly rare, likely to be at nosebleed prices.... :headsmack:  ESPECIALLY given that I'm betting purple was a rarer color.

This is my problem -- champagne tastes, beer budget....  Sigh....

More than likely a rare color, seeing how fragile those casein pens are. I also like too many pens that I can’t justify buying on a whim and have to wait for an occasion.

In the UK it was called a "Parker Black Pen". It's from the flat-top Duofold era (late 1920's). Yours looks like the smallest of the three sizes-it's the same diameter as the Duofold Lady but has a longer barrel. Photo below is the streamline version of the same pen (but with a pocket clip rather than a ring) & is next to the shorter Lady Duofold.

Looks to me to be a little jack knife pen with a chased pattern. Maybe a #20 of some sort? Have you looked at the blind cap under a loupe? No sign of any number there?

Good call! There is at least one just like this on eBay for sale right now listed as a Parker Jackknife Safety Fountain Pen. I've never seen one of those. It says it is a button filler and has a Parker Lucky Curve nib.

Happy Un-birthday!

🎶 A very merry unbirthday to you, and you, and you!

While I didn’t buy a pen, I did buy some NOS red Quink with Solv-x and red mini cartridges on this particular unbirthday occasion.
