Length and diameter: Pilot Myu 701 vs Pilot E95S

Recommended Posts

Are the lengths and diameters of the Pilot Myu 701 and Pilot E95S similar while posted? Is the Myu shorter and thinner?

The Myu has caught my eye, but I'm asking myself currently whether it'll be a pen that I would regularly use, or if I would just have it because it looks unique.

There's not a lot in it:

Myu701    M90     E95s

Capped:     11.9     11.8    11.8

Uncapped:   10.5     10.4    10.6

Posted:     14.2     13.9    14.7

Max Dia

(Section):  1.0       1.05   1.05

Max Dia

(Barrel):   1.15      12.5   1.3

All measurements in cms, done by eyeball as the battery has died in my digital calipers.

The bigger question is whether a) you can find one to buy; b) can you afford it.  They go for silly dollars these days, on the rare occasions they appear for sale.  IIRC I paid AUD140-ish around 12 years ago for mine.

Having just checked, I see there are a handful for sale on Ebay, none of them cheap except one for parts - nib looks like it's past its best, so not many useful parts!

Cheers,

Effrafax.

P.S. The E95s is a great pen, lovely writer (I have three in EF, F and M), plus you get a gold nib for a fraction of the price of the MYU.  Plenty of reviews on FPN and YouTube.

P.P.S. Just realised that the "Max Dia (Barrel)" should actually be the cap!  It becomes the barrel when posted ...

Cheers,

Effrafax.
