New haul from India

After 2019, I don't remember buying any pen. This time when in India thought of splurging a little for pens.

Quite a few from ASA Pens, Gama, Airmail already with me. Time was not with me too to order some handmade Ranga or Guider and the like. Came across a website www.fountainpenindia.com . Browsing through it, aha!!! They had Beena Lincoln NOS that I had missed ordering from ASA Pens when I got my pens in 2015 and 2016 from them. That time I thought next time.

This site had also Beena Magic and Beena Antic.

Wasted no time and ordered two of Lincolns, 2 of Beena Antic and 2 of Beena Magic. Why two each? My daughter is equally crazy about FPs. They were shipped by Indiapost that came in on time.

And a trip to a bookshop , saw Camlin Elegante and Camlin 47 languishing at the back of the rack of ball pens. No takers??? Got them too in Blue as I had no Blue pens other than a Parker 45. Camlin 47 seems to be redesigned as the clip is now on the body of the cap unlike the original where it was separate and fixed with screw on finial.

Beena Antic, Beena Magic (retractable), Beena Lincoln, Elegante and 47 in that order

Many have reviewed these pens here so not doing a detailed review.

Dip tested them and oh.. Beenas write so well though they might have been made aeons ago. They are finished well too.

Camlins too write well. Only Magic was inked till now - cartridge.

Regards

Nice haul 👍 I used such Camlin pens and other Indian pens during my school days. Now I mostly use those large Indian Ebonite pens.

Have heard that airmail/wality too has shut down now. What few stocks the sellers have are also getting sold at higher prices compared to before.

Have never ordered from them, but their website seems to be active with offers and WhatsApp contact button: https://airmailpenco.com/

I visited the Fountain Pen Show in Pune yesterday, and the owners of some well known brands confirmed that Airmail is nearly out of business, and may eventually close shop. This is primarily because the person taking care of the business has moved to the US, and there is no one to work to keep the company going.

Thanks for the update. They made good pens.

Hope you had a good time at the Pen show.

Since there is no official notice yet, I suppose we can still hope for a revival...
