Hello Fellow FP lovers!  I am recently back into FP.  I have this, my very first FP, a Parker Insignia Athens I think from 1994.  The problem is, always a dry start regardless of ink.  I have noticed that you can blow through the cap (e.g. bloimage.thumb.jpeg.1f1d8abf89a3b66c431212d7176d39fa.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.d3205ea4546204d53a08ddfd4a9dfb46.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.d1919c9b0ecadbb1e2e6e18ffd8f0a88.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.e773613f743d7c337f7ca335df704cc0.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.ca504880ae32481729e767076e9fbd81.jpegw thrimage.thumb.jpeg.aff0f2f4d071334129fb7f0b7868aa49.jpegough the comes out the other end).  Any help and/or advice on how to solve the dry start would be greatly appreciated.  open end and air

I seem to have had a problem posting photos as they have rearranged to words of the post.

Hello Fellow FP lovers!  I am recently back into FP.  I have this, my very first FP that I got in 1994, a Parker Insignia Athens.  The problem is, always a dry start regardless of ink.  I have noticed that I can blow through the pen cap (e.g. blow into the open end and air comes out the closed end.  Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Or is there a problem with the cap?  Is this something that I can fix? or is this just how the pen is?  Any information/advise would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Best I remember, the Insignia did not have the dry-out problem that early Sonnets had. Maybe this is a different problem?

Inner cap may have a crack in it.

You may be able to see the inner cap with a torch, look for splitting down the inner cap from the edge nearest the cap opening.
