Help Required To ID A Parker Fountain Pen Please

Trooper8

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I bought this pen hoping it was a Parker 45 MKII, however on arrival and closer examination it doesn't look as if it is. The nib unit looks like it's from a Parker 35? The barrel and grip are a brown nylon material, The pocket clip is Parker 45 ish and the top clip is like a Parker 75? It is made in France.

Any help would be grand.

Cheers

I'm not familiar with the Parker 35, and have only one Parker 75.  But the Parkercollector. com website has a page to help ID pens -- it shows different models and you can click on the images, which will take you to the relevant article(s).

I do agree that the barrel doesn't seem to be the right shape for a 45, since it doesn't appear to taper towards the end of the barrel.  Also, the nibs on 45s are hooded (they are an assembly of the nib, feed, and caller) -- which your pen doesn't have.  But beyond that?  Sorry, can't be of more help.

It looks like a variant of Parker Jotter , Parker 15 or whatever...that kind of pens were made in France or UK parker factories...Regards.

These are some of my 35's (I can't find the rest). The section ring is the same as your pen but I'm fairly certain that they only came with gold nibs.

Likewise I think i have seen 35's with that barrel tassie, maybe some other model as well.

I have seen a pen like yours once before but the details escape me.

This pen is similar.

I believe I also posted on the thread as a bystander, but I'm not sure what the conclusion...

Please read the details.

From reading those other threads I think the OP's pen may be an economy model based on the Parker 35. Steel nib instead of gold would bring the price down significantly.

Not sure about this, but could the nib on the OP's pen be titanium?

To me it looks more gray than the stainless steel color of the nib collar.

P.S.

@Trooper8

Is it possible to compare the nib of this pen with other octanium or stainless steel nibs?

The nib on the OP's pen appears to be made from stainless steel and marked with a halo stamp.

The Parker 35 Titanium nibs are marked as such.

Thanks for the valuable images.

I was hoping to get your reply.

I would have liked to have seen a titanium nib.

There were multiple comments on another thread that the 35 of these 45 type clips are similar to the 15 and 45 flighter II.

I recently had a chance to look at a French Jotter fountain pen and it looked exactly like the OP's pen, only without the section collar and barrel disc. (The caps looked identical.)
