Help identifying vacumatic

I have a vacumatic made in the 1st-quarter of 1942, from the date code. However, it has a slimline filler, and two bands. I'm having trouble figuring out the model. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, the circular opening in the pellet pocket on the slimline filler seems larger (7/64") than what I've seen on fillers with the celluloid plungers (5/64"). Would I use a larger diaphragm, or just the deb size?

Thanks for your help.

Can you post overall dimensions, including girth around the barrel? It’s a strange one. The cap makes it seem like a junior, but the nib almost looks like a senior maxima.

Thanks. The length is a shade over 128mm (just over 5") and the barrel diameter is a shade over 12mm (just about 1/2"). Here is a nib closeup.

Also, here is a shot of the pellet pocket. The slimline is on the left, and a plastic filler on the right (also seems to be from 1942, from a very faint date code). The slimline is just a bit larger.

Nevermind. Looks like a Vacumatic Junior with a metal speedline filler. I believe the plastic speedline filler was standard by that time, but perhaps someone just threw a metal one on there instead. The filler looks like it’s in great shape and is likely the most valuable part on the pen.

Thank you very much, gentlemen! Will go with a deb size diaphragm.

1942 appears to have been the transition year from the metal speedline to the plastic filler, but this is a 1st-quarter pen, so perhaps we are seeing some remaining stock being used up.

I'm working on three vacumatics, coincidentally all from 1942, all different sizes. The other two have plastic fillers.

Is it safe to use a mild solution of Dawn dishwashing soap on the outside of such pens? (Never done it, and not strictly needed, but just thought I'd ask before I did anything foolish.)

Yup, should be. I wouldn’t use too much, but I also don’t think much is necessary.

All three 1942 vacumatics done! The middle one has the speedline filler. The one on top is presumably a Major, and the one at bottom is a Deb.
