Making a Platinum 3776

Not sure if this has been posted but fascinating video on the amount of care that goes into a Platinum 3776

It's mostly if not all just about the nib, yet I don't see that they actually test and fix them so they don't scratch. Yes they align the tines before assembly but I have found more than once that an aligned nib can be scratchy too, or the tines too tight/wide. Do all manufacturers do this? It might explain why my Pelikan luck was horrendous: 80% of them needed fixing.

I have read several articles covering the Platinum Fountain Pen Co. Gunma factory, but almost all of them state that "photography was prohibited inside the factory".

I don't think this video shows the entire process. Of course, I would think that most of the filming of the manufacturing process, which is top secret, would have been omitted.

 

I do not believe that one manufacturer's product defects can be explained by using another manufacturer's materials.

This video covers the nib part of the process, but not the body and cap. I like it and I learn something about the Platinum brand.
