If you fill a NOS Parker 61 with water, the white felt will change colour?

Not sure if you are asking a question or making a statement. Please clarify.

Good question if it is one...

There is more detail about the felts in a Pennant article from a few years back.   The first run of pens was recalled after the issue became a problem.  Replacement pens had the felt dyed red so it could be identified.

From memory and not going to look, at a much later date they stopped dying the felt.

San Francisco International Pen Show - The next “Funnest Pen Show” is on schedule for August 23-24-25, 2024.  Watch the show website for registration details.

My PM box is usually full. Just email me: my last name at the google mail address.

Any idea of the specific (or approximate #) issue of the Pennant/ I may have it (somewhere) or have a friend that could find it in his larder.

Thank you. This posting has turned into a fairly interesting adventure. Only downside right now is, with the Commonwealth Pen Show cancelled for this year not sure where I will post (no pun intended) the pen to sell it.

So does that mean that one with felt that appears white could actually be undyed?

Ah okay, this explains my pen, being probably a late MKII model. It is not one of the original "faulty" white felt pens. Thanks for the info.

It is a question. I was thinking that maybe the white felt had some kind of treatment that will react to water.
