Good prices on Pelikan Pens M800 B BB, M1000 EF, and M900 M, EF

Good to know that these pens write so wet!

Interesting that the box is not included in so many markets.  I can see Pelikan charging the retailers separately for the box to encourage retailers to differentiate themselves (some retailers can include a bottle of free ink) but to sell the pens with no box does seem strange.  Then again, Amazon is probably not an official authorized dealer in the strictest sense.

I believe in Germany it is common that these pens officially come without a box, and a box is a separate expense, though most dealers give you no choice and always include the box.

Good to know!  But then again, it's highly likely that Amazon is not a fully authorized dealer in the strictest sense.  Thank you for pointing out this detail!

My 1005 F wrote like a B.  Anabelle transformed it into a 0.5 CI.  Edelstein Moonstone goes down almost black with this pen, unlike the correct gray with the M800.

I hope my "M" is a "M" and the wetness you're describing sounds good to me!

Yes, the M1000 writes wetter.  Also, the nib writes a wider line.  For example, the EF writes more like a FM.

I usually use a F or EF with Montblanc.  Seems like this M1000 whereas I got a M might be a bit too wide.

Just ordered a green M1000.  Almost the same price as the black and a great deal too.  Thanks, @james3paris for pointing these deals out!

Excellent thread. One question. Have been eyeing a Pelikan M1000 (Green and Gold) with a Medium nib.

However, its availability seems to be limited, at Amazon Japan, and at other retailers. Anyone know why? I heard from a US retailer that it might be related to shortages of precious materials used for the nib, and that these pens have been on order for over 6 months.

@kabbyr, I received my Pelikan 1000 from Amazon Japan in only two weeks. My pen arrived on Friday, so there does not seem to be a supply problem.

I consistently get my "in-stock" pens within two weeks.

More great prices, all from the seller Amazon Japan.  I do note that only the fine is in stock.  The others say "Usually ships within 4 to 6 weeks".  Having bought a couple dozen items from that seller with that shipping information, I would say that is usually correct, but not always.  I've been waiting for several items for over a year, meaning they are never going to be back in stock.  You aren't billed until the item ships, but you are given no warning as to when it will ship & you will be charged.

There are some good deals around for Fountain Pen Day, especially for hard to find at a discount combinations like an M1000 Green in Medium. Endless Pens had the M1000 for $780 with a stackable 15% off + 20% off. The price is within striking range, once you consider tax + shipping, with the added benefit of the Pelikan Nib Exchange program.

The M800 Green Demonstrator continues to be on sale at Atlas for $400.

That's okay. Both are out of my price range...

And an hour later...$1,399

The Amazon Japan must have sold.   The 1399 pen is a different seller.
