We had a cat that -- for some reason we never understood -- used to like to lick the bottom of the bathtub in our house in Massachusetts.  

Well, until the time that we didn't drain the water, in an attempt to add some humidity to the house.  Then we heard, well, noises....  Because Peri had jumped in the tub without checking first....  And then of course was SCRAMBLING to get out....

After that she DID learn to look before leaping....
