Red Pen Club- Show Me Your Red Pens!

Somehow I missed this thread!  I love my red pens!  As you can see, I tend toward vintage American pens.  From the right, the Kaweco Sport is a souvenir of my vacation in France.  The Fiesta Red Sheaffer Sentinel is probably my best sumgai, the pen and pencil set were $10!  It is uninked and the chalk mark is still visible.  Being a native Ohioan, I like those Conklin Toledo nibs, although it's difficult to find one in a pen that still looks as good as this Glider.  I guess you're all familiar with the Sheaffers, Parkers, and Esterbrooks!

A pen that Sheaffer never made.  It started life as a No Nonsense

That’s a nice pen. I am very curious about Pineider Quill nibs. I would love to know what your experience is like.

My photo quality wasn't very good, has a more opalescent appearance in real life.

Quill nib on this particular one is fun, soft but definitely NOT a flex nib, overall somewhat similar to a Pilot Falcon in bounciness.

This nib is a fine, but it is a real firehose, unless I use dry inks it tends to lay down a line that I would call in between medium and broad.

People have reported that the magnetic cap closures on these have led to the the nib drying out but that's not been my experience.

What did it grow up to be?

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

@Surlyprof that pen is a gorgeous shade of red.

Thank you.  I thought I was done buying Lamys but then this showed up.  I’m really pleased with this pen.

Nice, thanks for sharing your experience with me. I like bouncy nibs, it’s like driving a luxury sedan. Sounds like a good pen for dry shading inks.

I don’t blame you in the slightest, what a nice shade of red! I love those nibs, they feel so nice on paper. I run shimmer inks in my EF with no problems.

@Ron Z inquiring minds want to know! Tell me more about this Sheaffer a la Zorn, what modifications did you make? What pen did you source the nib from? That sounds fun!

These are just lovely. I’m also smitten with vintage pens and striped celluloid.💕

I finally get to play this game with my first red pen .  Recently acquired Piano Red Lamy Studio.  I had considered their new matte red but this one came with the delightfully smooth gold medium nib.  Fun pen!

I've been eyeballing that pen and also the matte red one (someplace I get e-ads for was showing them side by side just a couple of days ago.  But I have to read up on the specs to see how that pen compares size & weight-wise to my Safaris & al-Stars.

And of course, I also have to see about transferring money into the checking account from the home equity line of credit to pay for the re-do of the driveway  AND this year's school taxes (the discount amount timeframe ends in a couple of weeks -- and my annual school taxes are more than the town and county property taxes are -- COMBINED... :o).

I had not posted a photo of a red pen I got awhile back. It’s a Kaweco AL Sport in Ruby Red. Also in the photo is the Kaweco DIY Sport in Berry. It’s hard to know what pen club the Berry pen should be in.
