It is Parker 88 but not Rialto.

All 88 FPs had a distinctive "gold spot" on the top of the cap and barrel.

When the model was renamed to Rialto it lost that "gold spot" and all models had black top of the cap and barrel.

If I see correctly on the photos and the presented pen has black section and top of the cap then it is certainly later 88 model.

Early 88 Gold Corinth pens had burgundy/maroon sections and tops of the cap and barrel.

All the best is only beginning now...

Thank you for the information. I'm a little confused though, because the top of the cap (button?) is actually burgundy, not black, and in the center there's a sort of brushed-silver-looking circle, same for the very bottom of the pen. Also, the section is burgundy, or do you mean where the nib/feed attach to (I thought all of it was called the section but perhaps I'm mistaken). It would be nice to be able to date the pen actually.

Another question, are the nib and feed removable on these?

Thank you!

Thank you!

I f the sections and trims are burgundy then your Parker 88 is dated between 1988 and before August 1992.

You can find quite accurate information here:

Sorry, I don't know about removing nib and feed on these pens - when I needed I simply bought replacement sections...

But I have no doubts some reputable FPN members, who deal with pens restoration/repair, can easily advise you on that issue.
