I have an Edison draw filler too, in a light purple swirl. It started as a pump filler, but the latex failed. I had it turned into a draw filler. I kind of wish I’d had it turned into a C/C pen. When I was emailing with Brian, he used the word rebuild. But what it amounts to is making a draw filler body, and giving it my nib and cap.

If I decide to I will inform you of the results- we’re getting to the bottom of this one way or another.

Great...there is still enough Geha School pens on German Eba with prices the same as 15 years ago.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Isn't that 725 such a sleek, classic great balanced pen?

With permission of Penboard.de.

I'd forgotten an interesting detail on my second one, which I've been nursing back to life and is only now starting to write without skipping: it writes like an F and is an 18k nib, whereas my OB is 14k... I did get it from a seller in France so that might explain it.

Alas, latex diaphragms and sacs......

Just a while ago I emailed Brian about the availability of pneumatic filler pens right now. He answered that the pneumatic filler is discontinued, exactly because of the failing latex sac issue. PVC and silicone sacs simply do not perform as well as latex sacs so they couldn't help. How I wish we could have a material that is as thin and flexible as latex while having a much longer lifespan.

Thank you for sharing this. I used to want an Edison Beaumont pneumatic filler. I decided to go the C/C route when I got the Beaumont to save money. Looks like I made the right decision.

I would imagine...and have no idea really, that the White Company's restructuring was a failure...White made the basic 30-40 year sack from back in the day.

Is it China making rubber sac's today???

Some thought the supersaturated inks of today really lessen sac life............I'm into two toned shading so don't really have much if any supersaturated inks.

I had a marbled gray '48-52 Estie...original sac, in I doubt if it was resacked in Germany and had sat in the drawer 15 years by my wife's aunt and 15 years by us in the dark of the drawer....before i got back into fountain pens. Selling that pen was one of the reasons I got back into fountain pens............It was 60 years old (30 years not used) before it died. It worked for some 2-3 years before the sac started dieing.

That's another batch of pens I have to start using again:headsmack:...my lever or other sac pens.

Not that it's green, but Senzen, I did jump my Geha 725 to the head of the list and inked it.

It's an old fashioned narrow F, so I'm using it for editing.

Well, it's a Gloss Green Decograph from Karas Kustoms. To be honest, I did increase the saturation of the photo -- not for deceptive purposes, but because of the $hitty camera, but nevertheless the pen looks gorgeous in real life.

This is coming in hot from the mailbox, a sea green Geha 707 school pen circa  1968. It’s writing well with a reversed Lamy cartridge that I pierced with an awl before inserting.

The trick is out finally.....two or three days ago, I saw some Geha cartridges for sale on German Ebay at a reasonable price.....but no longer have that Geha cartridge pen.

Now, thanks to you.....in no one else ever said use an awl, I can look for cheap pretty Geha school cartridge pens.

The plastic is a little thicker than the side that’s meant to be used, so I had to make sure that all of the plastic within the cartridge walls was evenly pushed away from the middle. The Parker converter was too wide, so that’s definitely not a solution. I’m going to buy the Geha cartridges to have on hand just in case, but it’s a happy camper for now.

Those Preras are really cool, demonstrator or regular.  I do like that K mini, @LizEF.  I love how eclectic your collection is, @Sailor Kenshin.
