Rusewe Neptun Green Marbled

Rusewe...Spezial. I showed this before but there was that Neptun. Something I didn't know about.

I have a small Rusewe white and black cracked ice.

They are tear drop tipped semi-flexes.

What do you have on your Neptun

The pictures of your green striped Rusewe Spezial made me get my own green striped Rusewe (made from very similar material) some years ago. Still, I would take that set off your hands any time.

The Neptun is a small, cheap school pen, somewhat nicer qualitywise than the red marbled I showed in the Red Pen thread, but still a cheap pen. The nib is steel (Dauerfeder 2 with the red one, Dauerfeder 3 with the green) and like the red pen´s nib, I am not at all sure if it even has some iridium on the tines. In any case it is very rigid.

Oh yes. And I really like those too.
But I love the greens and browns and the stripiness of the one that you do have! (especially if the 'black' stripes between its brown and green ones are still transparent/translucent). That particular colour-palette makes it look like a 'natural' phenomenon to me. Or reminds me of nature. Or something.
Whatever the reason is, I bloomin' s it, I does! ;)

I also like (very much) the the look of the Parker 'Vacumatic' pens that have the 'stacked coin' patterns on their bodies (& e.g. the 'Golden Web' pens) - but your Duofold Senior is, I think, the one that is the prettiest of them all.

Thank you, Mercian. And yes, the colour palette of this pen seems to be a very "natural" one. When I got it, I felt like "Red - nice. Blue - nice. Green - must have!" But of course now, that we have been talking about it, I am contemplating keeping an eye open for the other two siblings... 🤪

Sport Frosted Lime

Looks better than I expected.

Kaweco Sprot one each, even if black....the only one I have.

 Kaweco, a semi-flex, blind cap piston Sport.C8vJeJp.jpg

That light, very well-balanced semi-flex MB 32 is a joy.... I fear matching it up against my Geha 725, it is so nice and nimble.

That’s a really pretty color, @Misfit! I wish I found Sports more comfortable, but the facets really hurt. They have so many colors that catch my eye.

The old ones like I showed has a faceted cap, but round smooth barrel.

It was over in the cherry wood clean pen box...what a place to forget a pen. I looked three times in the dirty pen cups....no luck.

I stayed away from the Sport's until I got the vintage semi-flex piston filler.

On the whole, I don't care for cartridge pens; even though they are faster to clean.

I do have the remains of 5 or so boxes of Kaweco ink cartridges.

I read a book about the 26 kill** ace Johnson, and it was the change from a prop with three blades to one with four, that made the P-47 so good.

They removed Johnson from Europe with a year of war left for PR duty, or it might have been him as US Ace of Aces instead of Bong.

Could you use a grip to open a Kaweco? Like the kind meant to get nibs out. I feel for you if opening a Kaweco pen hurts.

Oh, it’s the faceted barrel (edit: posted cap) that hurts my fingers/hand during use. Any of the pens with edges do that, like the Safari or the Omas 360.

But... I am confused. The Kaweco Sport´s barrel isn´t faceted? Just the cap. 🤔

Sorry, Carola- it’s early here. When I post the cap, it hurts to use the pen because the facets dig into my skin.

Oh... okay...  Your skin has to be a lot more sensitive than mine, because I don´t even really notice the facets of the cap lying on the piece of skin between my thumb and my forefinger. Just tried it to make sure. Without looking, I can´t really tell the difference. Faceted barrel where I grip it - yes. Faceted back end where it just touches the skin - nope.

If a Kaweco´s cap facets can hurt you, you have my deepest sympathy. 😶

I use the forefinger up method of grasping a fountain pen, so never noticed the faceted cap.OXZIMyy.jpg

It’s my grip that causes issues with facets and edges, pens rest on my ring finger, held by my pointer, middle finger and thumb, so there’s more points of contact between the pen and hand than usual. I’ve lifelong joint/connective tissue problems and appreciate the sympathy.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that.
