A bit of fun... 'You have 30 seconds to decide. You can only ever have one fountain pen. Which is it to be?'

This is too easy.  My choice is a vintage Esterbrook J with a bunch of different Renew points to satisfy my whims. There's nothing in the rules against extra nibs.

I think you may have him on a technicality.

Nobody likes a cheat 🤣   Your entry will have to go in front of the Stewards for a decision. 😋

It would have to be a Sheaffer Balance that belonged to my grandfather. Is it my most expensive pen? No. But in this case, the memory of him using it makes it priceless to me.

No time to think... then the pen that is always in my shirt pocket: Pilot capless with F nib.

👍  I think if it's always in your shirt pocket, you've already had plenty of time to think previously, and decided! 🙂

participation? Are many that I would regret not taking, especially Conway Stewart's and the vintage pens I have. But in the heat of the moment and in haste, it would be the best writer, the black, chased Onoto Magna.

Amongst the vintage pens are a number Wyverns and a Mentmore or two as well as a John Bull that my late wife gave one Christmas that I particularly cherish.  Parting with them would be difficult IF I had to hastily choose only one pen.  That said, I will be giving them up all of them --- inevitably.

Just wanted to say a quick 'Thank You' to everyone that joined in, very interesting to see everyone's favourites, and to see how personal some pen choices are to some people.  I confess I never even considered my Parker Sonnet set that my Mom, God bless her, bought me for Christmas in 1988.  I never really properly appreciated that present. I intend to rectify that, starting tomorrow.

My PenBBS 469 fitted with the Flexible Nib Factory ebonite feed to adapt it to standard #6 nibs. One side a Jowo/Conklin Onmiflex and the other side an extra fine.

It’s only one pen 🙃

While I love all of my pens and I have many from  this latest acquisition cycle that I haven’t even tried, it woud be my blue marble Duofold. That’s my tried and true for over 30 years.  I have others that have been with me for as long, but none caught my imagination as that one did.

Top 5 of 26 (in no particular order) currently inked pens:

Pelikan M300 CIF, Pelikan Edelstein Golden Beryl

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Sheaffer 3-25 EF ringtop, Skrip Black

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

@51ISHI saw it- I think you should go for it, you’ve been very patient since 1988.
