@RedPie

I have discovered one flaw with the Retro 51 FPs. The threads inside the cap are plastic and some of them just don’t have a good feel to them when screwing the cap back on. That is not going to stop be from buying more cause otherwise they are wonderful and relatively inexpensive. I just will be careful not to over tighten them.

If you see a pen you like, wait till it goes on sale. I have rarely paid list price as eventually some dealer will have them on sale. So always search for the pen at different dealers. Of course unless it is an exclusive design with that dealer.

Thank you very much! Good to know. I will be careful with the caps when I put them back on.

My latest "blue" pen:  Montegrappa Parola.

The seller advertised it as Navy Blue, and it is the darkest "Blue" I've even seen.  More black than blue, just like the color of the ocean long after the sun has set.

Medium steel nib, writes very nicely.  Good feel in the hand.

That’s a beautiful pen, @CSSD! The most midnight of blues.

I got blue pens in the mail today.

They are Levenger True Writers with M nibs. The top pen is Sapphire Mosaic, which I like the best of the two. The lower pen is Larimar blue.

Here they are side-by-side. I would say yes, the Scala section is the slimmer of the two. The metal construction of the Scala makes it appreciably heftier than the plastic Phileas.

Sorry for the late response.

Thank you so much for that picture!

Because the Scala has such attractive colors but, I never saw one in person, I always wondered if they could be special occasion fountain pens.

Now, I see that the section is much too slim for me and the heft too great too handle.

I saw in a later post that you have a Blue Aion, do you have a silver one?

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

I can’t decide which one I like more, the top one drew my eye first, but something about the soft icy blue is soothing.

I usually go rather for dark blues, but that ice blue with those soft white swirls, combined with silver trim... yes... very nice.

Pretty.  I'm in love with the ice blue.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

No, just the one. I was especially drawn to that distinctive blue.

I agree.  It's a tough call.  They're both very nice.  My eye went to the bottom one in the lighter color blue.  😀

Thank you all. In person, the light blue has a large, or long white area on the barrel that is ok, but if I had bought in person, I would have looked at other Larimar pens. The Sapphire Mosaic material doesn’t have those issues. But I might be partial to it since Sapphire is my birthstone.
