@Tashi_Tsering That's a beautiful pen!

I know almost nothing about Dunhill as a brand.  What sort of fill system does it have?

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

The Dunhill company was founded in 1883 in UK. It is mainly known for luxury accessories. Since 1907, he began to tobacco business and related products. In 1920, the company began producing lighters, which continues to this day. In 1930, the Dunhill-Namiki brand was created, producing pens and other stuff with maki-e patterns. In 1977, Dunhill became the owner of Montblanc; in 1988, Dunhill became part of the Richemont Group.

The Gemline series was made on the basis of Montblanc Nobless pens (latest generation), the filling system was a standard cartridge-converter.

I'm a big fan of Dunhill pens. The Sidecar model has been one of my favorite pens for several years now. I think the Sidecar has great design and impeccable execution.

Here some blue Osmia's. It doesn't seem blue was a very favoured colour at Osmia

Outside the Parker Doufold/Osmia, those are the first blue Osmia's I've 'seen'.

Parker owed Osmia, for a year, year and a half. '29-30. Giving them the technology transfer they needed.

The general manager for Parker/Osmia was Lamy.

The Doufold didn't hold enough ink, and back the Germany was still Japan/China in cheap made items. And they had been selling Dufold clones before Parker bought up Osmia. And the clones were and remained much cheaper.

Who know what would have happened if not for the Crash of 29.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Thanks!

Me too 😁.

And here are my non-Pelikan blue pens!

I guess I have more blue pens than I thought!! (Only the Edson is inked at the moment).

Hmm... Just realized that I have another one that didn't make the photo: a vintage P51 Teal Blue Cartridge Filler that arrived last week and is also inked at the moment.

Thank you!

The Lapis in the middle is an Osmia 223 from the 1930s and is a button filler. The little one is the smallest Osmia I have and is a safety filler. The blue lines on the safety are enamel. Osmia regularly used enamal on pens, but these are very hard to get by. This is the only pen with enamel I have. I wonder why no modern pen maker uses this (as far as I know). It's a wonderful material

I haven't seen many blue Osmia's either. As you say, they did make them in the Parker era and then they seem to use blue again in the 1950s. But I don't know why they made so few pens in this colour.

I would really like to know more about the history of this brand. I've been looking through newspaper archives and hope to write on FPN what i have found out. But it isn't much.

Indeed!

Gotta love the Moires (and also, when you can get one, the flex nibs that some Skylines had).

Thomas/Kaweco on the com is a scholar on Heidelberg made pens. Look up posts by him. He has his own pen museum, he had to twist City Hall's arm to make them give him a building. They wouldn't let him put in a second floor because some drunk fell off a tall city square monument.

I drive by the old Osmia factory some 3-4 times a year.

The CD I have from Thomas, is on Kaweco, in his uncle worked there....not Osmia.

March of '43 the German fountain pen companies were told that they had to stop making pens by 1st of May. Osmai made war goods and had an ack-ack gun in the street  front of it's building.

Lovely trays of blue beauties! What is the flat top between the Capless and the metal capped Sheaffer’s?  I just flew cross country (boy, are my arms tired) and am a bit out of it, otherwise I’d wax poetic about each pen. They are all so very pretty.

Thank you, @Penguincollector!

The pen you mention is a Conklin Endura! Not so easy to find with good color. I got lucky, and found it at an antique while traveling.

I hope you have a relaxing and restful day to recover from the trip!

I love enamel. I didn’t even think about it in terms of pens. Maybe we just have to give modern day pen turners ideas….
