Lamy studio special edition aquamarine ...bought for 10% off yesterday.

(A major department store is closing, so a month long sale. Come the last week or last day, I'll go down and see about an Imporium, a nib I love considering. It had great tine bend, but only a 2 X tine spread...had it been semi-flex in spread 3 X, I'd given up beer for it long ago. for me €360 is out of my price range by a factor of 2. )

I was going to buy some ink, and look at Waterman's of which I am totally ignorant.....

I hadn't planned on buying a Lamy, but the wife liked the color of a pen she'll never use (being a pure ball point barbarian), so I gave in to my wife's whim.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

That’s a really pretty color, I can see why she likes it! Maybe it will be the pen that brings her in.
I have the Imporium nib in EF on my Penguin Safari clone, and it’s the nib that convinced me to give Lamy a chance. The gold nibs are lovely.

Just ordered through Amazon.de that 755 Lamy B nib and some €40 less than store price. That Studio pen will rapidly become my favorite.

Oddly the M nib was much more expensive. Like € 40 more.

I was so impressed by that nib, when I tested it on the Imporium.

That sales person in the Lamy  was not up to steam, in he didn't tell me that that nib could be used on a less expensive Lamy pen.

OK, the Aquamarine studio, is one very sharp pen, so I ended up with a win-win, so unexpectedly. The nib is due on Tuesday....then I'll be just :D's.

4 new additions to my blue pen list :)

Left to right,

Lamy Aion, ugliest pen ever with a terrible cap, but it’s all metal and makes a great beater

Lamy Studio, much more elegant and better designed in my opinion.

TWSBI 580ALR, Prussian Blue. Pairs perfectly with Iroshizuku Tsuki Yo

Pilot Capless 1967, which suits my needs much better than the newer heavier ones. image.thumb.jpg.fc96910f12998392adb2e32bbcfd5846.jpg

Song of the week: “Someday” (One Republic)

If your car has them, make sure to change your timing belts every 80-100,000 miles. (Or shorter if specified in the manual)

That older Capless pen looks interesting.  Any idea of what the weight of it is?  That's been one of the problems I've had with the newer Vanishing Points -- they're too heavy and awkward for me to use (Decimos are a way better size for my hand -- I just wish they made more colors (ironically, they're FINALLY seeing the light and you can now buy the Light Grey Decimo in the US -- I had to get mine from Japan, but that also meant I saved money, even with the economy airmail shipping).

The design isn’t my favorite, but the color of the Aion is my absolute favorite. The Studio is much more elegant. I love the Prussian Blue; and the color scheme of the Capless, it’s so of it’s time in terms of design. That late ‘60s  vibe is my jam.

The two Lamys I find gorgeous, specially the color of the Aion, as well.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

Sigh, I've a cheap old blind cap pen out for repair....that I'd not thought to add to my blue list. An Inwitz, with an Artus clip. It must have been one of the last of the blind cap pens, in the plastic feels cheap. It is an EEF, which I decided I need for editing.

I'd never bought it, but it was in a lot of a live auction.

I'm too cheap to buy EEF or narrower Japanese pens...so I spend more on the repair than it's worth..........oh well, it's mine and should work.

I absolutely love this new pen of yours! The colors and the chatoyance are wonderful, and the music nib is the icing on the cake! I hope it’s fun to use and becomes a favorite.
