Ranga 3C Regular Ebonite Fountain Pen

Dear Fountain Pens lovers,
One week ago, I received a beautiful Ranga 3C Regular Ebonite Fountain Pen, that I purchased directly from Ranga Pen Company in India.
In that purchase order I made the options "No Nib" and "Threaded for JoWo#6 Nib Unit", because I already had a JoWo#6 Nib Unit.
Since I received the Fountain Pen, I've been writing  with it on a daily basis and I was very pleased by its outstanding quality.
At this point, I would make the statement  I am much more of a passionate hand writer, than of a Fountain Pen collector, so that's the spirit of my thinking on the features of my Ranga 3C Fountain Pen .

1. LOOK
For some reason, I chose the "Brown Ripple" colour variant, although Ranga Pen Web Site shows plenty of other options. I made the option "Polished", but "Matte" was available, too. Having the Fountain Pen in my hand, I noticed  it was looking even better than suggested by the pictures displayed in that web site. As I can see, the barrel, section and cap are flawless and it is a real pleasure to hold the Fountain Pen, feeling the special warmth of the ebonite.
The threads are  precisely cut, as I could easily and smoothly screw in the JoWo#6 Nib Unit of mine.
A point of attraction would be the clip, which lately was upgraded to a new version. That one is strong and reliable and it has, running down its length, nicely engraved, the name "Ranga" which, in these circumstances, becomes a distinguished element of beauty.
However, unlike  my case, the option "Clipless"  could be made, as well.

2.SIZE
Sizewise, without making any measurements, I could say this Fountain Pen was a big one.
Length (capped)= 148 mm
Length (uncapped,Nib Unit included)= 135 mm
Largest barrel diameter= 14mm
Smallest grip section diameter= 11mm
Obviously, posting such a big Fountain Pen, would make out of it an unusually long writing instrument.
Besides, I never post Fountain Pens, as posting would produce unwanted marks on the barrel.

3.FILLING SYSTEM
According to the Ranga Pen Web Site, This Ranga 3C Regular Ebonite Fountain Pen, belongs to the 3 in 1 group and it comes with a Schmidt ink converter and a pipette as well.
Interestingly, it could be used also as an eyedropper, which I successfully did.
Grace to the extremely precise execution of all the threads, there was neither ink leakage, nor drying  problems.
By the way, I use Quink from Parker blue permanent (not erasable) ink.

4.FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
I have medium-to-small hands, but, inspite this fact, writing with this Fountain Pen seemed to me as it was tailored for me personally.
I mean that such a big Fountain Pen didn't seem to be heavy, being, at the contrary, surprisingly light and, by the well chosen dimensions of the grip section,  it offered to me a very comfortable and pleasant hand writing experience.
At this point, I would notice  the grip section tapers a little towards the end near the Nib, where it has a ridge, unbelievable useful to the writing.
Theoretically, a person like me would try to slide her/his fingers pretty near to the Nib, as #6 is quite long and keeps the hand at a considerable distance from the paper. Then, during the writing session,it would be expectable  to find  the hand in a lower position on the grip section than at the beginning, being in this case protected by that ridge.
So, I think I am entitled to say this Ranga 3C Regular Ebonite Fountain Pen model would be  appropriate to all hand sizes.

To be honest with you, I felt a great pleasure in writing this modest review, because on one hand  I am very happy with my Ranga 3C Regular Ebonite Fountain Pen, which proved to be more a friend and a source of inspiration than a simple writing instrument and on the other hand I am very grateful to Ranga Pen Company where I found warm kindness and  competent answers to all my questions.
Thank you Ranga!
