Safari Special ed. 2022

Lamy is selling two new Safari pens in the same colour bodies and clips from some years ago: blue with red clip and white with black clip. Are they exactly the same colours or they had been some light changes?

I bought the blue with red clip from the Lamy store in San Francisco.  The blue body is exactly the same as the standard issue glossy blue Safari, the only differences being the black nib and red clip.

The reissue blue pen with red clip and the original french blue and red clip have different shades of the blue colour.

Is the finial a matching red with a hole in the middle like in some limited editions (Flame and French Blue, for example) or is it the boring old black cross finial?

The finial is black with a cross.  The O-ring between barrel and section is also black like a regular Safari.

  seems like a low-effort release. However I also don't like the recent releases (2020, 2022, 2023?) where the clip and the body have matching matte colors. For example the strawberry could have had a green clip or even the cream clip. 

 

Personally, I think matte bodies with black clips look the best. Or the releases with red clips and matching red finials, like the French Blue and Flame Orange. Earlier this year there was a white and red release which I like a lot. I think in the US it was marketed as a breast cancer awareness model.
