Please help identify this Cross Fountain Pen

My father just gave me this Cross Fountain Pen and I can’t seem to find much information so as to identify what it is. Perhaps people who are very familiar with the brand can help identify it for me?

I have checked the pen itself and cannot find anything written on it except for “Cross” on the clip and the gold trim. I also notice a letter “Q” below the threads on the section part.

It came in a black box with a felt nest in green.

Any suggestion or points to identify the pen will be much appreciated.

Cross "Solo Classic" f. pen.Regards.

Thank you for the information. Seems a bit older than some of the Cross Solos I see when I Google. I’ll modify my search to include “classic”.

The Cross Solo was made in the late 80's to early 90's; that's when I got one. Though it has a somewhat plastic type body it is a well made pen with a nice nib. It has to be! since it was made for Cross by Namiki (Pilot) in Japan.

I have a few of them and enjoy using them. There is also a matching ballpoint pen which is nice and well balanced.

Have you used this pen ? What do think about it ?

I have a couple of Cross Solos (a red one with an F nib and a bright blue one with a B nib) and I like them very much.  The red one I bought from the estate of a friend, and I liked it so much that one year at OPS, I bought the blue one (don't remember who the seller was -- the guy was in the hallway outside the big ballroom at the old site, right before the hallway turned the corner).  I waffled till the last minute (by which time the blue was the only one left -- the nib was just a bonus).

I keep thinking that someday I should try to see if I can find a yellow one and a purple one....

I have a white Cross Solo FP and a black Cross Solo BP. When they are clipped in a shirt pocket together they are a surprisingly good matched pair. The caps are identical and so are the clips. A lovely black & white combo.

I think I have the same one in black. I found it in a shop in Rapid City. It writes beautifully. I never knew the model name.

Yes. One of the loveliest standard nib writers I have. I did not know it was made by Namiki in Japan.

Can someone help me identify this cross fountain pen. The pen clip looks like a propeller blade. The pen is very stubby.A64F2EC3-D7B6-48A8-8FAE-F68627747BD2.thumb.jpeg.d6f7ea05c57109e38a8f9c2e61ad4df1.jpeg

I looked and looked and haven't found this pen. I'm stumped. Somebody here knows, though.

Post this here: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/forum/37-cross/  in the Cross sub-forum. Somebody will chime in.

Sorry I'm only just now seeing this. The short pen with the "propeller blade" clip is a Cross Compact.
