Parker21 vintage leak after I replace the cap ?

Found in antique mall. Parker21. Squeeze filled with ink went fine , but when I remove cap to use, there's ink all over the top and Barrell underneath the cap. Am I filling it wrong? Does anyone have a recommendation for a repair person? Is there a possible crack in the plastic? Thanks for help.

Any cracks in the section/shell? Even hard to see cracks can let out a lot of ink. I'm not familiar with the 21, but the 41 and the 61 from the same era used a thinner plastic than the 51 and were prone to developing cracks, some that were practically microscopic but let ink out.

@trinaMIt could very well be what John Danza said.  My first 21's hood cracked HORRIBLY.

But there is also the possibility that that ink is burping into the cap (yeah, I know -- hooded nib, but still...).  Not knowing where you are located, what has the weather been like where you live?  If there have been major changes in the temperatures and/or air pressure?  That could be a contributing factor (although I'm betting on cracks, myself).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
