The green and yellow are calling, but I'd want to see what the actual colors are like, not some misty seller photo.

Look like good pens. But to be honest, I can't see me carrying pastels at my age. "People" would laugh (between the normal screams of horror when they see something as ewww-gly and deformed as me.😇)

I might get a few as gifts for a couple of the staff here, though. They can use a good pen. 😁

I can assure you that those who make them, Jinhao, have them too, and that their pictures are actual photographic representations of the real thing, not non-photos. 😏

While I understand what you mean - you don't trust promotional photos because their purpose is to give a favourable impression - I don't share your apprehension because the actual experience, pen in hand, cannot be exactly conveyed, no matter who the photos come from. In my experience, Jinhao's photographs are no more misleading than photographs provided by buyers. They give a fairly good indication of the colours in person. I never exclaimed upon receiving a pen from that brand, "No, you naughty Jinhao, you cheated me. The photos promised a pen worth $5.00. In reality, they are worth $4.79 at most."

Curious to compare them side by side with my Pro Gear Slim, I ordered two. If I don't like them, which I doubt, I'll give them as gifts to the uninitiated. The way I see it, the only possible loss is the loss of patience because these cheap Chinese pens take forever to arrive by container ship.

Yes, I think you are right. This colour palette seems to be inspired by the pastel colours of the so-called "nurse pens".

Well, the colors.  I would buy at least the yellow, but I don't want a Pikachu yellow, just a soft pastel. I could say the same of the green.

 

 I already have two Delike New Moon pens, a blue and a pink.  And they are similar in size to the Sailor Sapporo, but fall short (naturally) in terms of writing.  But the Delike were two for fifteen, so…

 

 I wonder of it's worth taking a chance on the Jinhao colors being too intense.

The price seems to be around the a Kakuno?

Not really. I think it compares more to a Sailor Lecoule.

I always find such reference kind of hilarious , cause pretty much all the Japanese Big 3's so call flat top and cigar shaped pens are just having style that's taken from eon's back , way back to the 20's / 30's and up to those in the 50's .. I generally consider such generic styling just well generic

Even though they are exactly the same shape and size, the main difference between the Professional Gear Slim and the Lecoule is that the former has a metal connector joining the grip section and the barrel, whereas the latter is plastic and thus significantly lighter in the pen's total weight.

And it looks like I was wrong about the Jinhao 82. One of the AliExpress seller's product images show far more relevant information about how much the pen weighs and how it is constructed:

 

and it looks like the model has a metal connector; as well, the pen's overall weight is far greater than that of the Sailor Lecoule.

That might be true but I think Jinhao designers had a Sailor on their double screen when they designed this one...

Which very well might be , just as Sailor's designer had in mind also , styling after some long established and proven design and that itself is nothing wrong , pens been around for thousands of years and the ergonomic pretty much all ironed out and some basic form always it's will be

 

It can be flat top or rounded or pointed , it can be straight or tapered straight or tapering curved , it can be long or short , it can sometimes had changing profile instead of one continuous curve , it can ...

I had seldom seen really original styling but originality in execution of the various styling idea still amaze and amuse , Jinhao definitely not one at that though
