Odd (at least to me) Parker Jotter Pardner Set--No Feather Details?

Hi, everyone.  I bought this Parker Jotter "Pardner" set at a flea market today.  I'm not familiar with this set, but the clips do not have any lines or details in the arrow feathers.  When I Googled the Parker Jotter Pardner set, the examples I saw seem to have feather details like other Jotters of the time (I'm guessing 1960's--domed button and brass threads).  So, is this set typical for when it was made or unusual?  Thanks!

That is odd indeed, also because the feathers are absent on both pens. Is the upper pen a pencil? It seems to have a very short nozzle on its front.

The Jotter Pardner set with regular pencil appeared in late 1962. Pardner sets are shown in many period ads and catalogs but I do not see a feather-less arrow clip in any of the advertisements and catalogs that I have.

Is there a date code printed inside the cardboard box?

These early Jotters with no fletching to the arrows are known. Hence the reason Parker commemorated this with the 50th anniversary Jotter.
What year(s) and to which models they did it to, I don't know. someone with better Jotter knowledge than me may have the answers.
I do have a Parker 45 without the arrow fletching, so it wasn't only Jotters that had this feature.

Joss, the reason the pencil nozzle looks short, is because the inner tray is punctured and the pencil has moved forward, hiding half the nozzle.

Interesting, but the first Jotter of course had a through clip and then came the ridge clip while the arrow clip appeared in early 1960. The plain arrow clip without feathers is likely not a transition clip from 'ridge' to 'arrow' because the Pardner set that includes a regular pencil (the earliest Pardner sets had a Liquid Lead pencil) appeared more than two years after the introduction of the arrow clip on the Jotter.

I wonder whether the plain arrow clip pens were originally all part of a set (Jotter Pardner or 45 giftie set).

Here are some out of the box pictures.  Unfortunately, there are no clues inside the box.  Closer inspection of the blacked out area on the box label shows a retail price of $3.95.  The cap is clearly marked "Made in U.S.A." and the halo logo.

Interesting coincidence that your 45 is also in red.  And thanks for "fletching."  Much better descriptive word!

Thank you for the extra pictures. It seems that the 'new' Pardner set, eg the version with regular pencil, sold for $3.95 from its introduction in late 1962 to at least 1966.

Below is an extract from a Life Magazine ad from December 14, 1962:

I have a few of those Jotters. A short live run without the feathers on the arrow.

Always looking for unusual Jotters to add to the collection.

 They are a keeper.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion that these are uncommon.  If I decide to rehome them, what is a fair price?
