What pen(s) are you waiting for in the mail?

Sadly, even an M800/805 is too large and heavy for me.  So I was really happy a few years ago when Pelikan released the M405 Stresemann -- and at a price that I DIDN'T have to turn to a life of crime to be able to afford....

My first bird was a 1990s era M400 Brown Tortoise, with a very juicy F nib (bought for a special occasion). I really wanted a blue/black one but that came up on eBay first and I won the auction.  My husband was sort of flipping out at the price (I think I had never cracked the $100 US price tag threshold before).  But after I bought the M405 Stresemann and M405 Blue Black a couple of years later, he realized that I wasn't kidding when I said "You don't understand -- a NEW M400 would cost way more than this!  And they don't make this color any more...."  (Of course then Pelikan re-issued the Brown Tortoise a few years after that, JUST to make a liar out of me.... :headsmack:)

I ordered a 1461 nib unit for my Esterbrook 407 desk set that I found at an antique store. It currently has a medium nib that's bent out of shape.  I want to use the fine on it because my desk calendar doesn't play nice with anything broader than that with most inks.

It always happens like that. Every time I say “well, looks like time to close up” at work, some poor customer rushes in last second. Or every time I think my car problems are finally sorted, another oxygen sensor or little hydraulic line has different plans. To top it all off, I was excited to finally buy myself a Pilot Plumix calligraphy set with F,M, and B stub nibs, to find that what had been in stock a week ago was gone, probably forever.

:gaah:

On the other hand, I managed to score a set of 2 Kakunos with ink and a Con 40 on a sale for $16. They’re on their way now 😃

I bought a $22 leather pen case from Amazon that's a very close dupe of my $75 Pilot case. Certainly seems like high quality and very well built.

I’m waiting for a MB 146 Legrand Calligraphy Meisterstuck with flex nib due to be delivered in a couple of days. It seems to be sold out in a lot of stores, so I’m dreading an ‘Unfortunately this pen is not currently available’ email… I really hope it will be delivered.

A few odds and ends. The most interesting are an Osmiroid 65 with music nib and feed removal tool, and a snorkel-filler Sheaffer Statesman with a stub nib.

There are notable differences besides the nibs.  My Osmiroid has a slightly different section with a raised edge at the distal end.  The distal end of the feed is smaller than yours possibly because my pen has a lefthanded nib.

Is yours a lever-fill? This one has an aerometric-type filler and a ten-sided faceted section. The nib itself is meant to handle Indian ink and has a pull-out feed (the tool in the pack is the feed puller).

A Hongdian N8, and a Jinhao 82 in coffee.  The Jinhao was ordered a few weeks ago. According to eBay tracking, it is in the US now.
