What pen(s) are you waiting for in the mail?

Well I did it. Years ago I had an Aurora Optima but sold it because I had a B cursive italic nib grind and that fell out of favor in my writing style. I also had an Aurora Talentum in B that I kept and is normally part of my inked pen rotation. I decided I needed a new optima but in a M nib.

Platinum 3776 Century UEF and Pilot Justus 95 F. I couldn't decide between the two so I bought both.

I have that very one myself, in a F nib.  Mine doesn’t have much of that Aurora “tooth” that’s talked about, though I think those may have been their older nibs.  It was my first grail pen that i actually acquired.

My Aurora Talentum B nib isn't toothy. It's smooth and wet. I guess I'll see how the new Optima comes out. It should be here Wednesday.

I said I wasn't going to buy any more pens for a while.... But I won a $20 store credit at Anderson Pens thursday so I had to order a pen. On it's way is a Pilot Custom 912 with FM nib.

Update on the Optima. The M nib actually writes on the wider side of M 0.55mm on Rhodia paper. My Aurora B nib writes 0.60mm which is on the narrow side of what they say for Aurora. I was hoping for the M to be a little finer than that, but It's an enjoyable writing nib. Not at all toothy and has just the right about of feedback for me.

@Driften what do you have to do to win a store credit at Anderson Pens?

Each week on thursday they do a YouTube video with the latest pen news for the store and have a new contest question. They select a random comments for that weeks winner. They don't have that many comments. I've won twice. Once in April and yesterday. Also Goldspot pens does weekly pen giveaways. If you ask a question they end up using for a future video you win.

I have a long-awaited, limited-edition pen from FPUK waiting for me in my letter box when I have a chance to actually fetch it.

I'll post a picture of it over the weekend.

Montblanc Meisterstuck 146 legrand due Monday.

Also, PL100000-9SM--Platinum 3776 Prime---  due whenever ink-house decides to fullfill the order.

I hear they take up to 5 business days...probably so, as it seems to take 3 for them to even get around to an email.

I won an eBay auction this evening, so I’ll be looking for a Levenger True Writer Flourish Forest green pen with F nib. I lost the auction for the Flourish Frost that ended 20 some minutes before Forest. I think I wanted Forest the most, but I’d like to have the Frost and the other pen that came out with them, the Cranberry.

I SWEAR I'm not collecting pens any longer- sold 95% of my collection last year.

Nonetheless, I miss my Lamy 2000 Steel with BB nib, so one is on its way.

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

These 3 arrived today

Jinhao 250 Ice Flow fine nib

Jinhao X450 Medium nib

Jinhao Dragon Medium nib

I like these 250 and 450 pens as they have some heft to them. Also, the nibs are real simple to regrind into italics or stubs and, at the price, if you mess up, no big deal!

I'm excited to be getting a Postal reservoir pen in the mail, which is the only way you could buy one when they sold in 1920's!!

Was Postal a brand name or were they made to be used in a US Post Office? I am asking for a friend who retired from the US Postal Service and who collects fountain pens.

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

Deleted because I was contributing to thread drift. This side track should be it's own thread.

Brand name only.

They were a brand as above that only sold by mail and not carried in stores. They advertised  in a couple popular magazines, interested people to send buyer information to the company, and a pen would be sent to the potential purchaser to try before payment, and other incentives as a sales stimulus, so sometimes this pen shows up quite far from a metropolitan area. ( the few that remain in the "wild")

Please excuse me for contributing to thread drift. This side track should be it's own thread so someone can find it.

Congratulations. I got one at the only pen show I’ve been to. Gold nibs on those pens!
