I’m waiting on a TWSBI Classic in sapphire blue with 1.1mm stub nib. It has an ink window, but is otherwise opaque.

None. It’s a feeling to which I’m unaccustomed.

FEDEX lies.

They sent me a text message telling me that they attempted delivery of a parcel at 7.52 pm but no one was home.  Wrong.  Not only was I home but I had company.  Both of our cars were parked in the driveway.  Both of us were sitting within 2m of the door chatting.  No knock or doorbell was heard.

My guess is the driver said, "B*gger this. I'm going home." and packed it in at 5.

And now I wait until Monday.

I've gotten that before with FedEx. I was working in my garage with the garage door open and I have full view of the cul de sac. No FedEx truck came down the road, but they claimed that they tried to deliver but nobody was home.

Well, an email about J Herbin Paris collection inks led me to getting the Eiffel Tower ink, and a TWSBI Diamond Mini AL in Grape with 1.1mm stub nib.

Either that or they went to the wrong house.

I think FedEx was the one that left a big package on our front porch while we were out of town a few years ago, and the person cat sitting for us brought it in without looking at the address on the box.  We come home to this big box on our kitchen counter that wasn't for us -- it was for the same street address but in a different town and only the last two digits of the zip code were different (we've gotten a lot of their mail and they have likely gotten some of ours over the years).  So we called and said, "This isn't for us!" and were told to just leave it on our front porch and they'd come pick it up at some point....

I just hope that whatever it was wasn't perishable....

So, I'm an idiot.

I finally received the parcel the following Tuesday after it was delivered to a drop-off/pick-up location. Not before I sent Fed-Ex two 'nastygrams' abusing them for their lackluster and untimely service as well as lying to their customers.  It was only while I was standing in the queue waiting my turn and looked once more at the text message giving me the pick-up details did I notice that the message was from DHL.COM and not Fed-Ex.

I couldn't help laughing at myself as I left.

LOL! I still haven't heard the end of it from the family when I ordered food for pick up from "Red Robin in Chesapeake". We go to the normal Red Robin we go to, and I go in to pick up the food. Apparently the order went to the other Red Robin in Chesapeake that is another 30 miles further away. *sigh*

@ParramattaPaul Well, it could be worse -- a LOT worse.  Years ago, when I lived in Massachusetts, I went to a yarn store that was outside the I-495 loop around Boston, and the store owner was in a tear, on the phone with I think the company she'd ordered a floor loom from (or the shippers used, which was Rodeway) for a customer.  Apparently the loom was sent in three different packages -- and Rodeway had lost at LEAST one, if not two of them).  And of course the store owner was just frothing at the mouth over the FUBAR....  And I'm sure NOT looking forward to having to explain the mess to the customer who had ordered the loom....

Of course there have been a LOT of complaints on here about DHL over the past few months.  And while that was going on, I was waiting for a package from a vendor in the Netherlands that I'd bought pens from before on eBay, and a DHL guy came to my house asking if we were #88 (because the people next door said that the package wasn't for them -- they're #86) only it turned out it WAS for them (I saw the label).  And of course I was all excited because I'd been waiting for a while for the package (bought the pens in July, with the ship date of early to mid-October) but was hoping they'd come a bit early.  And then, two days later -- and two days before the early end date -- got PM'd by the seller saying the pens had been RETURNED as "undeliverable" -- which probably meant it was delivered to the OTHER "street address" (the last two digits of the zip code were different) and I told the seller to use the full 9 digit zip code because this is not the first time this has happened -- we've gotten packages for the other address and vice versa).

Golden brown Tuckaway Crescent Vac-fil with matching pencil should have shipped today. Been wanting a black MK1 Duofold Centennial and lo and behold there one was. Should ship tomorrow. From inside the US. The only international shipping we have trouble with is to Canada. It’s a joke. Recent horror story with FedEx where they called and said we needed a broker to handle the package, wanted my wife to send a photo of her signature, just a bunch of idiocy, or in 48 hours they would return the package. All because their employ in US used the wrong form. They were pretty nonplussed when I told them we’d look for the package to arrive on our doorstep soon. Actually kept calling and emailing for about 6 days. We stopped answering Day 2 and they finally returned it. Eedjets.

On a bit of a Retro 51 tear, now waiting on the two Metropolitans - William Morris Blackthorn and Tudor Armor (which I suspect will get swapped a black nib or a gold one), and Pooh. That makes 8 in the collection now and it's a good thing I don't collect the other pen types or it'd be times 10...

I’m waiting on a Hightide Attaché with F nib as it was the only choice. I chose marble blue for the color. The pens are supposed to be somewhat translucent. I’m hoping the pen makes me think of the night sky.

Nice to see another Retro 51 buyer. I have the Blackthorn.  I’ve been eyeing the Pooh version, waiting to find a book I got as a kid to justify it. I’m more of a Snoopy fan.
