What's the silver colored Parker next to the red Pelikan? Is that a 75?

I think that it is a 75 ‘Place Vendôme’ in the ‘Ecossais’ finish - linky.

Thanks.  I saw the posted photo just as I was trying to deal with eating dinner -- and also with a bunch of spam calls all of which came in within about a 10 minute interval  just before dinner was ready).

Yeah, the link you posted definitely looks like the same design.  But I'm afraid to think of what the price on one of those might be, considering what I paid for the Ciselé (and I think I got a pretty good deal on it, given that I was the only person watching that eBay auction -- which surprised me -- especially given the crazy bidding on one with an F nib that I got massively outbid on) plus the recent repairs to the collar.

Still, who knows.  Maybe I'll win the lottery someday....  After all, nobody won the jackpot on last night's MegaMillions game (which was I think up to $954 MILLION dollars US... I think they said on the news that it was the third highest jackpot EVER for that).

It's a 75 Prince de Gales, fewer stripes than Écossais; the excuse was a B nib and a low price; it's super shiny, had to tone down the photo to show it off... At the expense of the others.

I wasn’t expecting to be posting in this thread so soon, but yesterday I was offered this little Platinum for a song and I couldn’t resist. I think that it says EF, but it was the color that got me. I’ve no Platinum pens in my collection yet so I’m interested to see what they are all about. Please excuse the picture quality, they are screenshots from the bay of enablement. 95A7EE98-90D9-418A-8160-ACC6D62FEC7B.thumb.jpeg.ec3362e21b78d4baa9fefa4a95052126.jpeg6C62FB70-38D7-459B-BD51-97B41914D12E.thumb.jpeg.4965c14a613414110d3672c75ad88696.jpeg

:yikes: Would they let a foreigner, say, for example, just off-the-top-of-my-head, apropos of nothing at all, a British person buy a ticket?

Thanks!

And, well, not thanks -- because now I want one! :wallbash:  (And here I routinely warn new folks about the enablers on here.... :headsmack:

I've seen several on eBay lately, which is not always the case, or the closely related Écossais. It's Prince de Galles with two L but for some reason I can't edit. The silver Perlé is also mighty pretty but doesn't come up as often, and even less with a nib that's not the typical F or XF in Japan.

  • 5 weeks later...

An Omas 556/F - Extra in grey pearl celluloid. By far the most I've personally spent on a pen, but the pen seems to be in good condition and the price is on par with what other vendors are asking for this model.

I'm waiting on a few pens, two for me and one for the husband.

For me, it's a Parker Vector (yeah, another one B)) but that's coming from Europe and it looks as if it's going to take a while with economy shipping (6-8 weeks :(). Just got the "it's been shipped" notice today for the cap I bought to replace the one I lost on my French Blue Safari (again, a long wait -- that's coming from the UK).

Not sure what's going on with the other pens in transit (a Lamy Safari for my husband, the new Lilac al-Star for me, converters for those plus the new Vector and a spare Parker converter, and a couple of ink samples). :(  Keep getting notices from the USPS that the package is "in transit" -- but I've been getting them since Tuesday.  And they keep claiming the package will be delivered around 9 PM today.  Not sure how that's going to happen since that's in about 5 minutes -- unless they're going to claim that they're going by CST, and not EST....

I am waiting for a Platinum Honest 60, the first cartridge ink compatible fountain pen in Japan, and a Parker 25 fountain pen, both in green body color, both listed at very low prices for the purpose of scrapping them.

I asked the seller to pack them properly, but they were shipped without any reply regarding that.

The Parker 51 double-jewel Vacumatic in Nassau Green that I bought from a dealer in the UK just checked into the NY customs office about 90 minutes ago. Typically for my area, that means about another week or so to wait for delivery.

Waiting for a Lamy Lx Rose Gold and a Safari Petrol. I keep telling the Little Voice this instead of an Al-Star Petrol, but it won't shoosh up...

Will work for pens...

Did that happen because I mentioned my concerns...?

I received a Platinum Honest 60 fountain pen with multiple cracks in the barrel...

The pen is in much better condition than it looked in the picture.

As it was in such good condition...

It is a great shame...

The seller on Yahoo Auctions sent the pen in an envelope with no packaging…

😣

The other Greeeen Parker25 with breather hole in the nib arrived safely from another seller. This pen was obtained very inexpensively. Even more fortunate, it is near✩mint✩condition.

😁

Monteverde Regatta Northern Lights edition with an omniflex nib. I wasn’t expecting it until Friday, but it showed up at the local post office this morning and is currently out for delivery. It should be waiting for me when I get home tonight. Now the question is…what to ink it with?

I have a Monteverde with this nib on my wish list, so I would love to read about how you like yours when you try it out!  I’m torn between a few nibs still, and trying to pare down the choices.
