What pen(s) are you waiting for in the mail?

Still waiting on the Homo Sapiens I ordered on 12/7 from Germany. UPS just keeps saying "We are experiencing transit delays. We will deliver your package as soon as possible" for the last couple of days. Reached out to them and they are saying they're backlogged for exports from Germany. This was supposed to be "expedited" shipping and delivered on the 12th. Hopefully it comes soon!!

The pen did indeed arrive yesterday. However, as I speak, I am sitting in the cockpit of the Dolphin en route to Coruscant. Since there are obvious problems with inking my latest acquisition during zero-gravity travel, and I would not have time to learn my new instrument before its use would be required, I will have to wait until next week when life will hopefully have stabilized. Within a month I hope to have a full review posted in the Pen Reviews section.

Amazing what student wookies can do these days.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Ohhh, very nice! A maroon 146 and n my watch list. As soon as I can find a nice one at something resembling a decent price, I will buy one…

Thanks! Patience will be your virtue. I was fortunate to find this one at a nice price.

A Wing Sung 699 F piston filler, which I expect to be quite comfortable for my hand.

And a Jinhao 100 EF that will be my first Jinhao.

Ordered three Pelikan M205s. The Olivine M shipped from in the US immediately and should be here Tuesday. I’ve also got a second Pelikan M200 factory nib scheduled to arrive next Friday. The Blue EF M205 and the M200 Smoky Quartz EF will be coming from Japan and are still awaiting shipment. I hope to see them in early January.

That gets me caught up on the special edition M2XX Demos, unless an amethyst mysteriously appears at a price I can live with.

Tuesday is Boxing Day, so I doubt it will turn up if like in the uk, that is a public (bank holiday) in the US.

Think we’re open for business on the 26th in the US. Happy Christmas from across the pond!

I have a Carène in Marine Amber and love it!  Fine nib—it’s a nail but so smooth…

To say that we all take the day off on the 26th there are so many people who do not know why or even what Boxing means, nothing to do with fisticuffs.

There are an additional two rhyming lines that are missing from your signature which were handed out to me in my office in years gone by, nowadays they would be the subject of an email to HR, do you know them?

Yes, and the rest of it, there are various meanings to Boxing Day from research, but majority rest with religious reasons. Yorkshire Born, Yorkshire bred strong in’t arm…….. lol😜

The Germans always have two days of Christmas.

Good Friday is also a holiday.

Southern Germany being Catholic, has a few more holidays than the Protestant north. Thankfully I live in the south.

When I worked with the Americans everyone complained at the amount of German holidays vs the American ones...and the Germans working for the US got both off.:lticaptd:

Actually I DID know the meaning of "Boxing Day" -- it's the day where you take the empty boxes and re-wrap them after putting in gifts for service people (the mailman and the plumber and such).

Sometimes the weird bits of trivia I know frighten me (in that I KNOW what they are/what they mean)....  But I don't know ENOUGH weird trivia to go on Jeopardy....

I am awaiting two packages purchased on the bay that didn't get shipped out until today (photos from the vendors).

This Reform pen of unknown model and nib was purchased on 12/22 from a seller in the U.S. and is expected to arrive on January 3:

Then this Parker 45 with a 14k fine nib was purchased on 12/23 from a seller in Buenos Aires and is expected to arrive on December 29:

Just how can it take so much longer for a domestic delivery than an international one?
