October is orange pen month. Let's see yours.

It seems like October is associated with Halloween in many minds, and Halloween colors are orange and black. Why? I have no idea. So, it seems timely to share photos of our orange pens. Here are mine:

I have not included a couple pens that are closer to "coral" in color, but have include pens that are more "gold" than orange to my eye. Clearly "orange" is not a super narrow piece of the spectrum.

Let's see your Orange-ish pens.

Oh wow. I have none yet sadly.

I narrowly missed buying an orange pen in time for this month. Franklin Christoph has a nice range of orange crush, frosted orange demo, and orange ice demo that really interest me. I'd like to see  orange ice in the 66...

Nice! That FPR pen reminded me of another of my pens I forgot to include!

That's a pretty pen. How does it write?

It is ergonomically faultless. It takes No. 6 JoWo nibs, and I had Shawn make me an extra section that takes Vintage Esterbrook and Osmiroid nibs. So how it writes depends on which nib I install.

I have the orange Optima shown in dms525's first photo (between the two Pelikans). Haven't inked it yet because I got it with an EF so oranges will probably too light (except maybe Blood Orange or Grapefruit?); thinking maybe a dark brown like Macassar.

^^ dms525 - What's the 2rd pen  over from the GvFC (orange barrel and red cap)? It's a looker.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

That's a Leonardo Momento Zero "Mango" spaghetti resin. It has a steel stub nib.  I have it inked with Rob. Oster Red-Orange ink.

My two least favourite colours are orange and pink in that order.  The best I can do is show you one of the two yellow highlighers on my desk.  Will that do?

Thanks, but no thanks. 😉

Truth is, I share your general dislike of orange and pink. I was surprised at how many orange pens I have. Of those displayed, the GvonF-C and Pelikan M800 are the ones that get the most love. The burnt orange color is nice, and both pens have wonderful nibs, both custom-ground italics.

I've always liked orange pens. One of my aunts sent me a Parker Big Red Ballpoint when I was in grade school. Despite the name, it was orange in color. Thanks for posting this photo.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

My Sheaffer Targa "Cadmium yellow swirl" has been waiting for this day.  Despite its name this pen is very decidedly orange.

I have two orange pens, a Jinhao 159 and Noodler's Ahab but my Benu briolette glows orange in the dark so I'm counting that as orange too. I really don't know why orange and black are considered traditional Halloween colours, possibly orange pumpkins and black witches hats/cats? I've been trying to keep a daily journal throughout October and attempting to do some sketches and illustrations in autumn themes but I haven't used any orange inks for writing yet. Autumn, and Halloween is my favourite time of the year 🍂🍁

All the orange pens in my wife and my collection. Some are close to red but they have an orange tone (not pure red).

Between us, I think we have too many pens!

Enjoy the photo.
