Same here… wish there was a solution for it.

I would attempt to ‘fix’ this problem by using a piece of tissue paper/kitchen roll as ‘wadding’ around the converter to make it secure in the barrel. Or between the end of the converter and the end of the pen’s barrel.

This ‘solution’ would also provide some small amount of protection against potential ink leaks if the converter were ever to become loose inside the barrel.

Off-topic Question:

Does the 51 now ship with the filling instructions/catalogue leaflet that one would expect to receive?

I know that when the pen was first launched it was shipped without such a leaflet - but that was early in 2020, just as the Covid-19 pandemic reached Europe.

I always assumed that the restrictions assiciated with the pandemic were the reason why no leaflets were included with the early 51s.

In the early 2000s I used to buy Parker 45 pens from Mr. Lewertoski on eBay. I gather these were straight from the factory in France. They never came with any instructions or catalogue leaflets.

Since the new 51s are made in France, I had simply assumed it was standard French practice to not include manuals in the non-top-of-the-line pens.

Mine came in a nice box with 2 cartridges and an outer sleeve but no instructions.

Not sure if it's a cultural French thing (Maybe it was assumed people would know how to use a fp without a manual?), but most French people, at least until recently (say 15 years?) have used a fountain pen in school. Writing was an important part of the French language learning in most state schools, at least emphasis was put on that aspect.

Now with computers and tablet, that's probably another story!
