Fake Parker Sonnet Fu?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was given this a few years back by someone, they didn't present it as real or fake, it was just something they didn't need.

It is a Parker sonnet Fu, which in the booklet days it is designed for Chinese characters and the first parket pen to have Fu inscribed on the nib.

I have looked around and cannot find anything about it so am presuming it is a Chinese fake which I can just throw put tbh.

Thanks

Hello and welcome.

I don't know if this pen is real or fake.

But I found information on Google for a very similar limited edition Sonnet fountain pen "福'.

It seems that 300 of each color were sold in Japan in 2007. (I don't know about other regions)

Attach the link addresses of those sales pages and blog posts.

The blog post is in Japanese, so please enable translation in your browser to read it.

The date code on the pen is illegible in the attached image.

I didn't know about this pen so I can only provide information from Google. I hope the correct information about this is posted.

Even if you can confirm the existence of the limited model, please be aware that there is a possibility that there is a counterfeit of this limited model.

You can also email the Parker Pen Company to confirm.

Did you try the magnet test to determine if the nib is real gold? A fake is likely to have a steel nib that will attract the magnet.

Thanks very much for this research.  I could not find these websites.

I am well aware it could, and given the fact only 300 of each were made, is most likely a fake.

the box in the picture on the kingdomnote website looks exactly the same as the one I have however it is more red in colour.  Also, the picture that shows the box open with the small booklet is slightly different also; the booklet in mine simply says parker at the top and then sonnet at the bottom.

what information do you propose I give to Parker in an email sent to them?

I did the magnet test and it doesn't attract whatsoever, however I heard this isn't a great indicator as other metals or materials can be plated with gold to give the same result.

I was tempted to scratch it to see but then I decided against it.

If it's a Parker pen sold in China, I'm sure there's a Parker contact and code number to verify authenticity.

*correction.

That system may have been a Hero pen.

*postscript.

It was still the Parker Pen system.

A Chinese article about authenticity judgment of parker pens.

Parker FU. How fascinating.

Does the tipping have gold plate on it or is it silvery? You should be able to see the difference between the gold colour of the body of the nib and the silver of the tipping.
