Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: Sailor Kobe INK Story #67 Ogo Farm Green

This is review #197 in my series.  Here's the YouTube video:

Post-recording notes: Cleaning was quick and easy. This is a one of those happy, plant-y greens that remind me of spring.  It's not super-bright like Caran d'Ache Delicate Green or Robert Oster Green Lime, but still seems rather bright from this nib.  It's quite close to R&K Alt-Goldgrun, but not quite as brown, I think.  Turns out there was a very fine hair (or bit of thread, or something) caught in the tines, which I removed part way through the writing sample.  That may account for the darker color later in the review.  All images look too bright (neon-y) on my cell phone; below comments are for my laptop screen.

Screenshot: not bad, a little dark

Scan: all wrong, too blue or something

Zoom: This seems closest to me - go with this one!

Absorbent Paper: Not bad

Copy Paper: Not bad

The line width measurement is one of the lines used for dry time.  Magnification is 100x.  The grid is 100x100µm.  The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each.  The line width for this ink is roughly 270µm. (For the curious, with 197 inks measured, the average line width is 291µm.)

The microscope slide was fairly interesting: our ink was playing with blocks and had interesting orange and yellow bits.

And here is a screen of the final result, for those not interested in the video:

Excellent review, with magical Essri and psychedelic green ;)

Amen!

I like green.  I like magic snakes.  Your micro looks like a city!  Welcome back, and thanks for the review and serial.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Oh, these have been missed! Thank you so much @LizEF for the next instalment!

It's not a bad green. I'm slightly surprised I haven't got it. I think I've got some thing very similar though, perhaps from PenBBS.

:) Thanks, @yazeh!  Things are settled now and I'm back to my normal routine - mostly, and thankfully.

:D  Thanks!  The green isn't really psychedelic - the camera was perhaps a little too excited to be back at work... ;)

:D (It fascinates me how some of these inks build cities - or avoid blocky areas - no idea why that happens.)  You're most welcome!

:)  Yes, there are lots of plant-y greens out there in various shades,

Thanks for this review … I may have to take a closer look at this particular ink. It definitely is my favourite type of green, and a colour that always succeeds in improving my mood when I’m using it for journaling. Hmm… in fact, it’s my favourite type of colour, period.

:D  It is one of those "happy" greens - no idea why, except that it reminds me of spring and alive-ness.  In a broader nib, it's a little more subtle, muted (but this may be due to a drier application in my case); in my EF, where it seems a little more concentrated, it's brighter.  Either way, it's a lovely ink and I'm sure you could work wonders with it. ;)

Doesn't look like a colour for me, but it's lovely to see you back!

Hi @LizEF, so nice to having you back! Good to read all is well for now.

What a dramatic comeback with lightning and fire balls and magic in the pen and with a not less magic in the ink that automatically draws Pokemon maps!

Looking forward to more news from Unreality. 👩‍🎓

One life!

 :D  (One of these days, I suppose I should investigate this Pokemon thing.  Did you know that Jim Butcher's Furies of Calderon series was invented to answer a challenge to write a story that was a cross between the Roman Legions and Pokemon?)

:) Will only be Tuesday for a while - at least until I build up a reserve again, but perhaps permanently - we'll see.
