Ratnam pen premium jumbo-the fantastic eyedropper pen from India

I own few MBs ,Pelikans ,Auroras and sailors all with gold nibs. Recently i was gifted a Ratnam Premium jumbo pen by my student. Ratnam pens are hand made pens from a town, Rajhamundry, India. They are a family of ebonite and acrylic pen makers.I was initially weary becasue it was an eye dropper and was not sure how it would write. Out of curiosity and its legacy of being made by a pen maker who made his first pen to M.K.Gandhi, I filled the pen and started using it. It leaked once inside a pressurised cabin. And never later. The balance of the pen is outstanding to say the least. Was never fatigued by the large size. Posted or unposted the balance is fantastic and it writes like a dream. I am among those who relish a good feed back from the nib. And the steel nib gives you sufficient feed back with a fine scratchy noise as one scribbles. It does smoothen out after few weeks and the ink flow is even and beautiful. Would rate this pen as one of the most underrated and neglected pen from the Asian continent. It has become the primary writing instrument of mine. MB 149 has gone back into its box,

I can relate. I am a huge fan of Indian Ebonite eyedropper pens.

Congratulations on the Ratnamson Supreme 👍 There are many others to explore as well.

Nice pen!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

A simple, elegant pen for those marathon writing sessions. I do have a soft spot for eyedroppers.
