Your new pens this year - photos

As a new member, and long time fountain pen user, I thought I would share photos of 'new pens to me' this year: Opus 88 Koloro, Lamy 2000, Sailor Realo, and a Diplomat Aero. I was not sure where to post this message. I am enjoying all these pens, but the Diplomat I'd pretty heavy. I was encouraged to purchase it by my wife when we were out one day. I could not say no to that.

Please post some new finds of your own.

PS: until I looked at this photo, I did not realize I seem to have a thing about reddish pens (save for the Lamy). My subconscious must draw me to red tones in pens. It would also explain why my favorite pen is a Parker Big Red :)  IMG_20220806_100926_819.thumb.jpg.db93f23adc45e754603ea3c16b110bfe.jpg

Those look like really nice pens, particularly the Realo and 2000. 2022 was supposed to be the "no more pens, or at most one vintage..." year... But here we are, three more pens, with four more on the way, which is embarrassing.

The excuses? I'd given up on finding a Rotring Renaissance at decent prices, so when one showed up for less than $50... It's even better than I expected, a nice, reliable piston filler.

In the middle: I just can't say no to Carènes. The Ibis 130 required a whole piston transplant, graciously sent to me by Christof; not easy to see is the (celluloid) that's fading away in parts, giving it even more character.

Those are three lovely pens. I love my Waterman Carene. It stays in the rotation, now with its new friends the Lamy and Sailor Realo. The Realo has bumped the Pro Gear out of rotation, thought it will circle back with others. What is your favourite ink in the Carene? My medium nib puts down a lot of ink and am looking for some drier options.
