Can anyone direct me to those vendors who carry unique pen holders? I have seen many at pen shows but , of course, now that I am looking for one for my wife's birthday I have no names/contacts.

Any help , greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure of what you're looking for, but John Neal Books would be a place to start. They sell all sorts of Calligraphy supplies and have great customer service:

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

In my collection of steel pen holders, both vintage and modern, are two that might be considered unique. One is wood, and the other acrylic. Both were done by hand. They are unique because the woodgrain and the marble effect in the acrylic are one of a kind. Each was created by artisans working at home and found through online searches. I'd provide links, but this was more than 15 years ago and names have been forgotten. I found each through an Internet search, which you might consider.

The wood holder, below, has a Miller Bros.  Gold Bowl Point 309, and the acrylic has a M. Myers &Son Ltd. Silver Series 6.

Or do you perhaps mean pen wraps or cases or pouches, to hold and carry fountain pens? (It seems more likely that you would have seen a lot of these at a pen show rather than a lot of nib holders, in my very limited experience, which is why I ask.) If that is the case, Rickshaw Bags is the one I hear about the most. Most US pen retailers, from Anderson to Vanness, carry pen cases of some kind, made usually of either cloth or leather, at widely varying price ranges. I don't know if any of those qualify as "unique" but that is something you would have to judge for yourself.

Thanks for the replies. Actually I am looking for, what I call a pen holder, that holds a single pen on a desk in a horizontal position. I have seen them shaped like turtles, octopus, etc. I would really like one shaped like a piano.

I think you are looking for "desk pen holder".

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

You could also try eBay.  There are numerous pen stands/holders on there.  Here's one that seems to be a piano.

No connection whatsoever to the seller, and actually I care little for eBay.  But, it is a potential source.

It sounds to me like a fountain pen rest or stand. One place to look for (more or less) unique, newly-made items is on Etsy. If you haven't used Etsy before, note that it can be difficult to tell which sellers are overseas and whose products will therefore take longer to arrive.  For vintage and antique, I would check eBay. Goldspot Pens (no affiliation) has a few, some fairly interesting. Googling the term "fountain pen rest" returns some interesting items as well.

I would try pendemonium.com. They have all kinds of stuff. And they’re very helpful. Contact them directly; not everything is on their website.

Here are some nice ones made in pewter:

I see now they even have a Spiderman limited edition desk set, including fountain pen and inkwell, his web holding the pen, with parts in copper, bronze and sterling silver…with a rather hefty price though…

I call them "pen trays," just another search term to try.  Here's a rather nice one eBay Link

(Usual disclaimer, no relation to seller, etc.)

My apologies for taking you literally. In the same vein, unique means one in the entire universe. This is why my two pen holders qualify. The woodgrain and marbling are "unique." You seem to have meant uncommon, unusual, rare. However it's possible you truly meant unique.

Also, please, remember you are writing for an international audience, not all of whom are native speakers. As I used to say to American authors of technical reports when I knew what they intended and their words said something entirely different: "Mean what you say; say what you mean."

3D printing is a fun option. I modeled this Kirby pen holder a while back it needs a lot of refining to get it just right. which I still need to do haha.

I might be a bit cautious with a metal pen rest as they could scratch the pen, it happened a few times when I had keys in my pocket but I haven't tested them out properly. I am not a huge fan of the brutalist look.
