Is it possible to have/hide these lists in a foldout menue, like a spoiler or so? These lists -- as convenient they might be for some -- make this thread unreadable for those who just want to see the pictures and text. 😌

@JulieParadise My apologies. If anyone can instruct as to how to create a foldout menu or other format, I will happily alter the way the list is viewed here.  Reducing the list’s obtrusiveness may indeed increase the thread’s legibility, and lessening the burden for all readers while still providing information is of paramount importance.

If modifying how the list is viewed in the thread proves impossible, I am amenable to removing the list from this thread and either creating a separate thread or sending it privately to those members who are interested, whichever seems most appropriate.

As ever, I am open to constructive suggestions and eager to learn.  Perhaps private messages in that vein will free this thread from off-topic discussion?

@JulieParadise I am with you.

The list appears very long, too long after being added and posted repeatedly . By now after seeing all these samples, I’ve reached the conclusion that almost any ink works with this pen, ok ok!

I must admit that at times I thought, maybe, just maybe, @NoTypewas trying to make a mockery of Tom’s extensive writing samples? Well, after reading the above comments from NoType, I think that I can rule that out at least 😀!

Just curious, Tom. Why the big gap at the tip of the nib?

~ Summer School is currently in session where I teach.

The small classes are intended to help students pass standardized examinations which they previously failed.

Many of the 10th grade students are characters, quick with cheeky wisecracks.

This past Friday one student asked me if Italic Edge, which he saw on my desk, wrote with invisible ink.

I replied that it did indeed use invisible ink...but...only on invisible paper.

@Tom Kellie Not for the first time, your “reports from the teacher’s desk” have left readers such as myself musing on the good fortune your students enjoy as beneficiaries of your tutelage, and wistfully contemplating the appeal of a parallel universe in which one could count you as their high school instructor.

@Tom KellieThank you for your continued efforts to improve this remarkable thread of ink tests with additional welcome instalments, which many members, not least of which myself, greedily consume and treasure as a valuable reference.

Has anyone compared the Italic Edge to the Pelikan Italic Broad?

Did you mean width wise or in terms of writing experience?

I don't have a Pelikan Italic Broad but I've compared it, size-wise, agasint my Sailor and Platinum music nibs. The italic  edge is larger.

Both. The Italic Broad is pretty broad, but not more than 1.5mm, I think.

The Italic Edge obviously has the little added benefit of the ability to write on the corner as well as on the flat. Other than that, it wasn't clear to me how similar or not they are.
